Mermaids are beautiful creatures who live in the lake under Rayla (the Underworld, gave the places new names). They guard the underwater prison and are allowed to torture, kill and eat intruders.
Its rare to see them on land, because their tails turn into glass like legs. Its quite painful and when they walk they leave blood and broken glass pieces.
(Their scales are also glass like, protective and pretty like a mosaic).
