The person ran and ran, his shadow streching futher and futher out behind him as the sun quickly sank into the horizon. He didn't have that far to go, but getting through the forest ahead was no easy task, especially at night. But that was not all that was troubling the man. He had heard several stories of people gone missing without a trace, all at night, in dark placrs, such as a forest. So far, none of the missing had been found and were feared dead. However, for Death to come knocking for the missing would have been a favour.

Pushing the thoughts of the stories to the back of his mind, the man ran on. picking up the pace as the moon rose behind him. The moonlight was partly covered by cloud and leaves, reducing the person's visablity. If he could have seen even a bit better, he would have seen it. A moving shadow, besides his own.
He slowed down as he came to an area that was pitch black. Not a single sliver of light penetraited the darkness. "Just run! Go!" he thought and dashed forward. However he suddenly tripped, falling face first onto the dirt track. As he struggled to stand, he could feel blood trickle down from his knees. Suddenly he heard leaves rustle to his left and made a run for it.

He didn't get far.
As he ran, something wrapped around his ankles. As he fell forward, something wrapped around his wrists and waist too, lifting him up. Breathing fast, heart racing, he struggled in vain to break free. A sinister voice spoke "Yes, you'll do nicely". With these words, the man began to feel weaker and weaker as if his life force was being drained, which he quickly realized to his horror, it was. When it was almost gone, he felt something else, an energy of some sort, but it was dark, sinister black magic. The man could feel it flow to all parts of his weak body, even his mind. Seconds later he blacked out.
Certain his work was done, Soul returned his latest victim to the forest floor.
