[it's not an emotion thing, his ears just always point backwards]
I dont like drawing them pointed up cuz i feel like thats what everyone does with thier OCs. Making Chalk's ears point back just makes him stand out a little in my opinion. I actually prefer how they look pointed up, but... yeah. :/
I love ALL the fanart regardless of where the ears are pointed tho. x]

Pointed up makes him look alot different :o But he is a neat character both ways, and Your reason for them pointed down is a good one :3

Actually, having downwards pointing ears was quite a thing on Flipnote Hatena... *cough*eevees/chaos*cough*

I actually see pointing down more. :U But it's an expresion, the ears. They can be up, down, or one up and one down. XD

I think he looks a bit weird with the ears pointed up, but I know that the only reason I say that is because I'm used to seeing them pointed back.
