That´s an interesting way to think of it :D

I think of it more as being just a massive Crossover series Nintendo x some-classic-video game-franchises.

Makes sense to me. You could even apply that logic to characters from the same series as other major characters. (Luigi, Lucario, and Toon Link come to mind as bigger examples). Am I making any sense? :I

I get what you´re saying. Every character would try to become the most popular character of thier series, would thus make appeareances in more games which would give them even more publicity!
There´s a lot of underlying tension in these games.

And yes, I like to give characters necks in my artstyle even if the Sonic-team thinks thier characters don´t need them :V

that would explain why each fighter acts like they're in their own games on the battlefield :p

I love your d0ucey celebrity Mario, I did a comic where I aplied that to Pac Man, accept he's more of a pill druggy who looks down on the other 3 and as a result gets very voilent. In a way, Mario is very similar so I think him and Pacman would get on well, there both druggies (shrooms) and roughly the same age.

Ya' know, that makes sense. From taunts, to victory poses near the end of battle, I can see massive rivalries between all of the characters. ; )
