To get the sewing machine, and to unlock patterns is you talk to Crap i forgot her name, but talk to one of the sisters, the one slaving away on a sewing machine, just keep talking to her daily and eventually u'll unlock the sewing machine. then you go on the computer, look up animal crossing qr codes: paths and you will see BILLIONS of designs.
