I see alot, and i mean ALOT of people use the same almost exact art style. im sure you know which one i am refering too. its a cute artstyle yes, but when everybody uses it it gets really old.

I agree in the fullest, i mean is it really so hard to be considerate of others and take the time to create your own tallents and styles?
I've had to help two artists who are friends of mine get rid of art thieves and style thieves.

A LOT of people have the same styles on here. Now it just makes the original artist less original.

Taking others' style is so dumb. Can't they make their own? Lazy as.ses. Yess get that TV. Do you know when exactly you are getting it?

I've got mixed feelings about copied styles. It's kind of flattering that someone loves your style so much they want to draw it too. One picture here and there with credit is pleasing. Pretending you just came up with it on your own is darn rude. Stealing another artist's identity is INTOLERABLE. It's not so bad when someone is influenced by many artists and develops a style that's a mix of them all. But drawing from within your heart? produces a style that is you and I found drawing that way is the most fun and makes me proud. c:

You can't 'steal' an art style, and if you could then where would you draw the line, because EVERYONES style has elements that come from emulating artists they admire. If people didn't copy each other styles we wouldn't have 'anime style' or disney-esque styles.
And I'm really disapointed to see a few of the artists that I admire on here whole-heartedly agreeing with this garbage, really guys?

Precisely what Kobi Draco said. Normally similar styles are coincidence. It's nearly impossible to emulate one's style, unless it's extremely simplistic. Normally, people don't "own" a style. The majority of artists have to draw what comes naturally to them. Art thievery is another subject entirely! Anyway my people need me.

everyone has one or more artists that u look up to it's matter of self control with your art and weather you can have your own syle that you create

I agree... But I only try out styles to think of my own.. Its hard, really. Thats why some people steal styles.. I thought of one once, but it never worked. I have tried thelastcomando's style, but it was only once and it came out preeetty bad.. I swear im starting to get addicted to it but Im stopping.

I hope all the styles Ive tried work out realy well for the people that created them.

Honestly i have people trace me, its not the same as your problem but its related. Anyone who does trace or copy please find your own style and own art!

But lets just know, art is fun, people look up to other styles to get better, its not how i progressed, but its how others did.
