I suggest getting a good gun. Metal parts, four hundred or more fps, fully automatic, gas powered (CO2) or electric (reachargable batterries not AA or AAA. Shoot one of those and you're hooked. Be warned though. They aren't cheap. You can probably find a good one at Walmart for a hundred bucks. The one here has an M14 that would be perfect for that price.

Dare I say, it's a little better than COD. As for the rules... It depends what game type you're playing. You can look up official rules online. It might hurt if it's a high fps (400 plus), but it depends on:
*Your pain tolerance
*Adrenaline rush
*What distance the shot was
*Bare skin or covered
But for a beginner I'd say it might hurt at first, but you get used to it. Besides, It won't matter if it hurt or not, cuz in the end, you'll always come back for a good adrenaline rush. >:]

Dont get a CO2 gun. (also dont get your guns at walmart) but everything else you said was good.
