seems to me that the lady tried to distract the security officers from the airport, cause wallet can be steal easily, she might have stole herself something in the airport and pick the first that didn't look japanese so that person couldn't ask why you were getting handcuffed cause some tourists travel with just a dictionary so when they have to communicate instantly, they can't. would be interest to see if she stayed there all the time you were under arrest... anything can explain why that lady did, that's just one possibility
