Salamander didn’t like or hate storms, but this was genuinely terrifying. There were actually ponies /lost/ out there in the howling winds! It was only now that he wished he was an earth pony, since their bulk made them the safest out there. He took a deep breath in a failed attempt to calm his nerves as he pulled a scroll off of his nightstand.
It had a list of things he needed to buy from the market. Salamander was sometimes forgetful and he certainly didn’t want to make any return trips.-c-

-c- Now, donned in his hoodles raincoat, he made his way outside his home and let his horn create a bright, unwavering, orange light. All he had to do was wait for someone to notice. Hopefully he wouldn't have to wait too long in this mess.

Minutes passed before Salamander decided that nopony was going to pass by him any time soon. Though the idea of traveling alone frightened him to no end, he set out on hoof. Otherwise he would have to starve in his own home.
"Better to di.e trying, eh?" he mumbled to himself as his wet mane whipped around in this dreadful weather.

Woohoo, halfway there. Salamander leaned against the wall of some building as he rested for a bit. He was used to nature kicking his rear, but this was ridiculous. Trying to walk against the wind was downright exhausting! Why did he have to live on the outskirts like this? Okay, whatever, at least he caught his breath enough to continue his trek.
His ears perked up as he turned a corner. Mmmm, was that a light up ahead? Very faint in his vision, but still visible. It seemed insanely far away from him, but that didn't stop him from speeding into a full gallop as he tried to catch up to it.

"Hey!" he choked out as he approached the group.
Wow. That sprint did a number on him. Having some of the wind taken off him was totally worth it though. He made sure to stay behind the unicorn's sheild for that reason. As he was catching his breath, he realized that these were the same ponies from a few days ago, right? Well, minus the one with split-colored mane, that is.

"Salamander." he stated with a nod. He might as well give them his name.

Salamander's jaw tensed up when Fernap initially asked to help with the shield, but relaxed when he learned that he only needed to be a power source.
He had the urge to shake his wet mane dry, but he stifled it for the sake of his companions.
"I don't know, but I'm getting /real/ tired of this rain." he replied to the black earth pony, feeling angry and exasperated. His curiemark was a torch for Luna's sake! Going for so long without seeing the sun and having only candles and his fireplace to sate his innate desire had him on edge.

Salamander drew in some air as was going to begin ranting, but decided against it. Honestly, he could go on for hours talking about how he hated everything associated with this storm, but he merely glanced in the black pony's direction.

Salamander took a match from his pouch as the others talked. Almost as second nature as breathing, he lit the match and took the handle into his mouth, much like a cigarette. The heat that radiated from the flame onto lips was comforting. As the match began to burn itself out closed his eyes and took a deep quiet breath.
Ah yes, matches and conversation. His bliss was cut short by yet another strike of lighting that sounded too close for comfort. The same as Blue Keys, he noticed the sign, but wasn't fast enough to read it all, though it was easy to guess having caught the word "UNDERGROUND".

Salamander hadn't said this aloud, but this was his first time seeing the underground village. He had been going to one of the warehouses, until they announce their departure to this village. This revelation made Salamander slightly more grateful for the fact he found some ponies who knew where they were going.
