Carson tripped up the steps of the shack. He barely turned the doorkn.ob (bad word?) before the force of his body pushed the door open. He fell face-first on the floor, his backpack skidding across the room, spilling it's contents everywhere. The blanket draped that had been wrapped around Carson's shoulders flipped over his head. He stayed still, sprawled out on the hard floor.
"CARSON!" Caiden came barreling up the stairs into the shack. He pulled the blanket off of his brother's head...

and Carson sat up.
"Who are you?" The twins looked up and saw a middle aged man standing over them. he was holding a frying pan, ready to attack the boys.
"We-we're travelers, sir. We didn't mean to bust in the door. My brother can be a little too...determined sometimes." Caiden said quickly.
The man lowered his weapon. "Shut the door." Caiden quickly stood up and obeyed. Carson stood up and brushed the snow off of his clothes.
"Is it safe to come out now, Papa?" Carson and Caiden turned to see two girls, about their age, standing in a doorway.
"Yes. They're just travelers."
The girls came over to Carson and Caiden. "Hi." Said the one on the left. "What's your names?"
"I'm Carson. This is my brother." Carson sputtered.
"Your brother Caiden," Caiden said, irritation in his voice.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Ari. This is my sister Alex."
"Hi," Alex whispered, almost hidden behind her sister.
"Are you twins?" Ari asked.
"Yes." Caiden said.
"But I was born first!" Carson said quickly.

"No, you weren't." his brother argued. Carson gave him a be-quiet-I'm-trying-to-impress-these-girls look. Caiden rolled his eyes.
"Cool. We're twins too. But Alex was born first."
"You dropped this." Alex stepped out from behind her sister and handed something to Carson.
Caiden looked over Carson's shoulder. "What is it?" he asked.
It was a photograph of their father, taken a long time ago.
