Yes, technically Sheik is a guy. Zelda transformed into Shiek with a spell, and both the manga and the OoT game refer to Shiek as 'he'. Specifically, princess Ruto in the game states she was saved by 'that man' in reference to Shiek. But I still don't understand why they made him look so girly...

all zelda does is transform, zelda doesn't change gender, sheik stays as a female!

zelda hid from evil people by saying he was somebody named sheik. sheik is supposed to be a boy to further hide the fact that she is really zelda(who is female).

Ok, argument breaker! I happen to have the original GameCube guide book with game art! There are several pictures of Sheik in it,(from the waist up) and lets just say....Sheiks definitley male. (The art makes his clothes really tight, so...) Allthough, that's really not what I personally think. Because 'he' still looks way too much like a girl in the game. I guess I don't really care now. :P

yes but think, once (in OoT) Link went into the relm on the sages, he left the gate open, gonandorf went in and obtained the triforse of power! once zelda found out, she tried to find a way to hide from ganondorf so she turned into sheik (still being female) with added voive change :D she made her-self look as manly as possible and she know it was working because the zora (princess ruto) said "that man".

Ooooooook, just playing the game in Masterquest, I take back my original statement. Shiek is female in the new 3Ds version. Even though they say she's a guy. You just can't ignore some things. O.o

maybe in OoT, sheik is meant to be a woman, that or a tomboy, i still stay with my word, Tomboy all the way!
