Red is too powerful for his own good. Now he has to watch his Charizard get destroyed by Ethan's Arceus and mauled by Princess Peach, King Dedede, and Sonic the Hedgehog. So long, unbreakable dignity! At least Ash actually stops the destruction of the world a few times, which Red did not. So even if Ash is a ditz, he's still got some stuff going for him and against Red. I mean, Ash's Charizard never got owned by a trainer bound Arceus or a princess with a frying pan.

Red maybe brutal but he's got nothing on my sapphire BLAZIKEN (female)! Lv100, shell bell, max stats, blast burn, blaze kick, sky uppercut & scald.

Ash is friends with almost all legendary pokemon when Red catches all he sees by force, making Ash more powerful in terms of strength. If he would use his masterball (from advanced >) he could catch mewtwo and win... but mewtwo owes Ash a favour for saving his clones so...

Don't forget that Red never talks and Ash is a loud mouth!

As many times as Ash prevented global devastation, he never did it alone. Secondly, the idiot always uses Pikachu in earth/rock type gyms and has no concept of strategy. Red wins by a long shot. Also, check my gallery when you get the chance.

Red is better. Red did all those accomplishments in ONE journey. Ash isn't a Pokemon master yet, and he already had God knows how many journies. Also, Ash was based on Red, 'cause the Pokemon games came WAAY before the anime.

Really it has to be red that wins any battle with ash i mean ash's best pokemon is pikachu about lv.*** red has all of his pokemon lv.*** but i can defeat them both easy win!

well it might be the same, since red is realy powerful!i mean he beat one of my best friends about TEN TIMES IN A ROW AND HE USED POWERFUL LEGENDRIES!Too bad i beat him wit ho-oh feraligatr and mew-two all at lvl 70 and his pokemons r at lvl 80s!guess it was a fluke but i still keep beating him.On the other hand Ash IS powerful!Thatz how he savez the world many times!and only wins cause he does special traing and Pikachu's his ace and if i had to use hom against a rock-ground type gym i would.and there the same person with different peronalities.red is a lone wolf and ash is going on his journeys with GIRLS!red doesnt talk and ash is a loud mouth!BUT THERE STILL THE SAME!sort of!8]haaa reminds me of how obsessed with POKEMON!*]

Though one commenter claims there to be multiple "Red"s, The others are merely of but the same spirit and personality, not the same person. Plus, I feel it necessary to point out that Ash has never won a single league challenge. Otherwise, he would be champion, and he would stay there until beaten. Ash did not exactly save the world at as many points thought by many, due to the fact that the movies are not part of the storyline. Ash is mosr definately inferior to Red. Red does not technically have his pokemon at level eighty something. His pokemon are at a much higher level than one hundred. They can never stop becoming stronger. Ash never keeps his pokemon long enough for them to ascend to that level. His pikachu is but an enigma. Evidence suggests it should have ascended to the level of Red's pokemon, but it has been beaten by pokemon both weak and strong. I am unaware as to how this is possible, but who knows? Perhaps it is a side-effect of the everstone.

Lotus - Pikachu evolves with a thunderstone, Pikachu has no need for an everstone, And i like to think of red and ash to be the same, ash just looks more like a kid, and not bloodthirsty looking lol

Red and Ash each have some incredible feats on their belts, but Ash's best possible team (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash-Greninja, Sceptile, Mega Lucario and Lycanroc.) would have to contend with Red's best (Pikachu, Mega Charizard X, Blastoise, Venusaur, Snorlax, and Espeon.), so in a straight-forward match, I'd be whoever makes a mistake first that loses.
