Ms-Haru-Wolf is hosting an Original Character contest, and it's being judged on uniqueness of design and best use of colors. Please, I need to know which pictures I've done so far seem the most unique and colorful. I'll blend the designs of "the best of the best" to create the ultimate original character with an unique design and color scheme! The more unique and colorful the better, PLEASE give me suggestions and tips. I REALLY want to win this contest.....

Dang! I accidentally did a typo. I meant "should I do a character design like her?" not "LIKE her?". What I meant was "like" as in simular not "like" as in "like like".... Stupid english-language double-meanings! XD!

Hmm... I might have to see more. The best thing to remember is that the character should be simple, but still recognizable. Details are to be added on later. Small details are nice, but use sparingly. Also, make sure that all of the feautures of the character fit.

Oh crud, another typo! I didn't mean the sketches in THIS PICTURE, I meant my entire gallery of artwork. I should really recheck my wording when doing this.....

Use a nice blend of colors. Nothing too stark and contrasting, but not bland either. I'd go anaglous, it's always nice.

Oh, and another thing about the small details added later bit: The neat thing about having a good strong foundation to the character is that the small details really won't matter to much for anything other than situational context. I'd recommend watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. That show has several situations where the characters change their hair and clothes, but can still be easily recognized by their "baselines" alone.
