Well for as far the quills go, those can look however you want man. That's what I do.
As for the hands... I guess it's sort of the same as drawing regular hands you would for humans but maybe bigger? I don't know... I'm not too good at drawing in that style yet, let alone hands so I'm sorry if I'm not of much help.
