Thought of this upon reading a "what if?" article on xkcd.com. There's a lot of stars in existance, in a large variety of sizes, so if you shrunk them all so that the small ones were the size of a grain of sand, it could make a beach, but there would be several rocks and huge boulders that were the big stars.
