Buenos Dias, Dear Batter by deactivated55555

I beat OFF recently
GAME REVIEW TIME: SPOILERS!!
This game really hit me. First off, the music just fit everything so well. Especially in Biismark, the music really added onto how bleak and helpless the Elsen theres' view of the world was. Especially the Elsen at the fence who says, "The fences keep people from falling into the plastic. They're even made of harmless rubber. That's good." At that point, along with the music, it hit me how bleak it was. Then we have the Room. In

The Room, we see things through the eyes of Hugo, The Batter and The Queens' son. My guess, is that something catastrophic happened and left the world barren. Enoch, Dedan, and Japhet, being the only ones left other than Hugo, The Batter(?), and The Queen, decided to make a new world, a better world. But, somewhere along the way, they were corrupted. Then we find out that they were the add-ons(?). This had an impact on me. Then, we have ourselves at the last section of the game. The Final Switch. The Judges quote here, "This is your excuse for ******* wife and child?" then, Judge: "There is no longer anything here! You've not purified this place, you've destroyed it!" Batter: "It's better that way." Then, if you choose the Batter ending, you ki.ll The Judge, flip the switch, and it's implied that you "purify" the world and yourself, included. If you choose The Judge ending, you fight The Batter. What I found interesting about this, is if you use Wide Angle on The Batter, his descriptio

n is "The manifestation of purificatory nature". so was it really him wanting to do this, he was a puppet, after all, it's just, extremely thought-provoking. And who was Zacharie? He was in on everything, as exhibited with his common fourth-wall-breakage. So, that still puzzles me...
(Note: scratch what I said before about the batter and the queens son being hugo, mortis ghost has confirmed that hugo is actually the batter and the queens creator, and is in fact human while the batter and the queen are not. which leads to more questions, who is hugo? my guess, is that he was a very "special" child, and created a world and people to live in it out of loneliness. still, the batter's a puppet, and we're his puppeteer, but /why/ are we puppeteering him? so many questions...) There's so much in this game to be explained, left unanswered, but that's the beauty of it, I think. Anywho, what also had an impact on me, was each time you "purified" a guardian, you saw Hugo, commenting on how one of

his friends left. (Allsooo, To further prove Hugo being the queen and batters' creator, The Queen tells the batter to "go back home" and The Batter says, "I did. This here is the cradle of my father." Anyway,) Another thing, is if you go back to purified Zone 2, and to where you fought Japhet, you find the Judge, meowing. when asked what he is doing, he says, "I'm meowing at my lungs' fullest... Have you seen my dear brother?" ...We purified Valerie, though. I believe the Judge is in denial... And, something notable, after this event, Zacharie begins to wear the cat mask, which looks like Valerie, but smiling. Me and some others believe that Zacharie and The Judge might've been friends, and Zacharie might've tried to cheer up the Judge, but to no avail, and ended up just taking over for him completely.
We're the puppeteer, right? why were we just /letting/ the Batter do all of these horrible things? Were we, perhaps, deluded into thinking this was just? Although, as shown in the final

boss battle with the Bad Batteur, the Batter, albeit being a puppet, can still control himself without our help. Is there, perhaps, another puppeteer, who controlled him then?

Anyway, I'll shut up now, I'm sure all of my rambling on is very annoying for you, so I'll just get to the point:
OFF is, by far, the best game I have ever played. It is VERY impactual, and EVERYONE should play it. That is not all, at all.

Okay, y'know how a 'masked figure' slayed the Toad King before the game took place? Since Vader Eloha is called 'the Queen of Flies' before The Batter duels with her, and toads and frogs eat insects (like flies), do you think this has something to do with... purification, or something? :-)
