Humm... I see that this is gonna be a big project, so: You're doing very well. The sketch itself looks nice, but I know you're not gonna keep it, because realistic portraits are better when lineless. I can't help so much now, but: search for "face shading" on google images, it'll help a lot.

Snake? Snaakkkkkeee!? Haha, good series. This looks pretty cool so far, it feels a bit stronger here then the finished one. I know this is an older piece but if you ever go back to it I think it would hold up more in a sepia toned sketch look rather the the stark black and white contrast you went with.
