It was early morning the next day. Shortly after Astra told Kyle her name he had a panic attack and passed out. He woke up bleary eyed where he collapsed. Astra was still asleep. The first signs of dawn broke through the night sky. Astra lay quietly, bresthing slowly with her paws tucked under her. Kyle stood slowly and walked to the back of the cave. More memmories of his father tor.tureing him, his mothers death and watching his only friend be k!lled in front of him flashed in his mind. Astra's ears twitched as a small wimper brpke the silence. For a moment she thought it was the crackel of the fire but thought otherwise. Kyle rested his claws on his side and prepared for more pain. He went to swipe back but he couldn't "Ngh... What..?" His paw was resisting the action and he was suddenly forced to lay down. He stared ahead. The cave was shallow so it's not like Astra was far. But she was still asleep. Barely a three feet away. "I'm not stupid Kyle..." She said.
"H-how did you do that? ... Amd how do you know my name?" Kyle shivered and felt free to move again. Astra sat up, her eyes still closed. The blood red mark under her eye gave a gentle glow. "Kyle Sharp... Why do you insist on the self inflicted suffering? ... Why do you wish to have yourself dead?" Astra asked. "... I'm useless... No one cares about me... I don't have anuone left... No one would notice if I was gone..." He said, and looked down. Astra opened her eyes. Kyle looked up only to find her looking hurt and lost... Much like himself. "Pardon me... I need a moment..." She said and walked outside. Kyle could hear her crying a few minutes later. He left the safty of the cave he had come to call home and watched her cry from behind cover. Why though, he wondered.
She looked towards the sky, the mark under her eye glowing. Sevral rocks that littered the front of the cave hovered around her as she began to growel. She snarled and lunged at the air, biteing it as though it were an enemy and the rocks exploded into pebbles. Kyle didn't dare walk out. Whatever power she possesed, it was not one he wanted to get on the wrong end of. Astra fell to her side sobbing and rested her claws on her throat. "I'm sorry... I have failed you... My family..." She said and was about to end herself. "ASTRA! NO!" Kyle jumped out of hiding and wacked her paw away. He layed next to her and rested his head on her, crying. Astra took a deep breath and let him. She was no better. "Why did you stop me..?" She asked. Kyle hesitated, before finally answering. "Because... ... ... You care... No one asked you to help me... But you did... And I care too... Please... Don't leave me... I can't be alone again..." Astra thought for a moment. "You seek companionship, no...?"
"Ever since I was a pup... I've never had a friend... My only one was taken away from me... I'm sorry... I can't be alone... Not again..." Kyle said. Astra realized all he wanted was a friend. Someone to rely on. "... I will be here... Do not worry Kyle Sharp... You won't be alone forever..." The day had barely begun but they were both mentaly exausted after what just happened. "Come... You need sleep... As do I..." Astra got up and led Kyle inside the cave. --- It was near midnight when Kyle woke up from a nightmare. He looked up and saw Astra asleep. "... ... ... You never even knew me... ... ... Thank you... " He whispered and fell back to sleep.
Awww, poor kyle. He kinda reminds me of me when I'm depressed. Except that I can't hurt myself. You're such an epic writer! This was a beautiful chapter.
