I'm pretty sure it's Japanese, and the kanji (japanese charecters) means "Konnichiwa" or in other words, "Hello"

re: Thanks! I notice that when I give my little scaredy-cat a treat (his name is Button) he opens up a little for a short period of time. But I'm afraid of stroking him because he absolutely HATES IT. I mean like when I first brought him home the pet store workers told me to pet it daily. But when I did (with my sweater sleeve) he cringed into a ball, hoping it would be over. When I slowly move my hand near him he stands up and may open his mouth a little. So yah and when we cleaned his cage yesterday, my mom was using a scra.pe thingy to clean the corners of the cage, I put a hamster ball in his cage for him to go into. He freaked out and jumped really high at the corners of the cage D:

hehe, that proves that my lessons have been paying off! :D (I've always wanted to go to Japan, but I've always felt that I'd be practically helplesd there if I hadnto keep asking locals to translate something for me. It'd be so annoying and embarassing. I don't wanna feel lie a tourist ya know? XD)

IS it Japanese? I recognized it as Chinese, and it says "ni hao" which still means "hello." I'm fairly certain that's not Japanese :I
Anyways, this is a great painting!

lets not forget that some(if not, most) japanese kanji were based off of chinese charecters. So there's a high likelyhood (spelling?) that there are similarities between the charescters for ni hao and konnichiwa.
