This is amazing. My inner geek is trying to figure weather patterns and plate tectonics and whatd itd be like to live on a square planet. Can you imagine that rotating in space? Or would it tumble?

(St.GIGA) I think that may be where the idea came from. Those custom built planets definetly came to mind once I started painting this. I never played minecraft, and I had completely forgotten that Bizarro world from Superman was square like this.

no one has mentioned that the ancient Chinese belived that the world was cube-shaped. They even had the exact measurements as well as the reason people living on the sides & bottom did not fall off: their souls are natually pulled towards the center where Hell is located since that was always the first stop after death. Judged first by the Yama Kings & then sent onto your next incarnation by the Great Wheel of Transmigrations. I also LOVE Hitch-Hiker's Guide: books, radio, & movies! Did you know that, just like in the book, there is a REAL planet made of diamond? actually it's a star: found a couple of years ago by astronomers. btw: LOVE these alternate Earths. ever read Terry Pratcett's Discworld series?
