Outlines, shadows, maybe a little story to it. After a while you learn it. Be inspired by other images. Look at the face or eyes to the form of their. And just try it out.
My paintings were initially not yet ... "Picasso default". :)
I follow you. I'm curious how this changes your drawing style.

I think maybe work on you line art and then black and white shading then figure light source and shadows. splashing the colors you want your painting to be can help to imagine a bit more. sharp edges against soft backgrounds give a 3d effect. and experimenting always helps.
