Anatomy?
Mn, well I'm still learning on that myself.

Before my computer started being stupid, I used to surf dA and look at all sorts of anatomy things on there, from ones about horse anatomy to bird wings.
I also looked at color theory stuff, perspective stuff and...well alot of different things.

e-e" I want to mention alot of stuff but I can't find good ways to word it...augh

But here are a few things I do almost all the time:

Constantly pick out flaws and errors in my old arts, like how I used to draw inconsistant eyes on lucario at different angles. When you realize what exactly you're messing up on, you can correct it.
Pay close attention to things in real life (though I'm fairly sure I've already mentioned this ...)
I look at animals and think about how their legs or arms bend, I pay attention to the way my own arms and such bend. I take note of how in some poses, the shoulders are raised and when I like a pose I later try to draw one of my characters in it-
out of space..XD

flare usually ends up being the one I draw in different poses, he and kaeri basically the test dummies...XD

Well my brain's like "nope" and I can't think of anything else at the moment ... '-'

Four legged things and shade like me?
Hmn.

I cannot draw four legged things for the life of me, so I can't give much advice there. Ponies are pretty much the only thing with four legs that I can actually draw somewhat decently X_x;
As for the shading, try learning as much about lightsources and color theory as you can.
Remember that color theory thing on dA that I told you about? It has a little bit on lightsources as well. It opened my eyes to some things back when I first found it, in....september...?

Mainly you're gonna need to expirement, mess around with odd lightsources and colors. It's what I've been doing since sepember :P
