Isn't Divergent pretty much the same thing as the Hunger Games?

Well, kinda, but not. In Divergent, there is one city. Contained by walls to protect the city from a war's aftermath. (Chicago) there are 5 groups of people, Factions, in order to give balance and peace.
-Abnegation (The Selfless)
These people sacrafice themswlves for the needy and help the Factionless/Homeless population. They wear grey.

-Erudite (The Intelligent)
These people are extremely smart, like they are all scientists. Reasaerching. Wearing some kind of blue clothing.

-Dauntless (The Brave)
These people are the soldiers and police of the city, Going through hard physical and mental training, which pushes them to the max. They are skilled at combat and problem solving. Dressed in black, completely, and tatoos are common.

-Amity (The Peaceful)
People in this faction value peace. They are happy people,
Dressed in Red and Yellow.

-Cabdor (The Honest)
These people tell the truth about everything. They say exactly how they feel. Dressed in Black and White

yeah, thats basically how the society is. if you want to know what all happens, i suggest reading the books or watching the movies as they come out. Its pretty amusing.
