(Original Concept) Very disappointed with this image when it's posted to the gallery. It looks perfect on my DS and gets blurred when posted. Anyways, when I complete a painting, I am really happy with what I achieved, but am often disappointed with the amount of likes my images receive. The comments I receive are amazing, and I am beginning to think they are the greatest reward. So, what are your feelings as a Colors artist? I want this piece to promote a discussion, but keep it civil. ^.^
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

So true...

So pretty! I love posting my drawings although i'm not a good artist nor am I popular but my goal is to tribute my favorite characters and if only a few like it i'm happy with that :]

Red color seems to get the blur effect when the picture is posted. That has happened to me too. But this drawing is still amazing! I liked it :)
06 Jun, 2012, 7:42 pm
i feel the same way, you think it's great and it took hours on end just to find out no one really likes it, or it doesn't catch their eye. p.s. if this is you, i love your hair ^-^
06 Jun, 2012, 7:47 pm
Look to the right, and click on the Download arrow. It will get rid of the Blurriness (also hitting play helps too, but quality is still shrunk)

Niko, I was thinking the same thing about the red color. Glad I was able to save a copy of the image on my cpu, because it looks fine on there. Fangsong it is a cartoon of me, so thanks. My hair is 30 inches long, thick and has a partial curl. ^.^
06 Jun, 2012, 7:52 pm
love the details on your hair : P

True enough. In my case, some drawings (that I liked did) not make seem to please, and other have favorable comments that I wasn't expecting. Not to mention common designs seen X times a week in the gallery and exploding on the charts yet. ^ ^ But everyone has his opinion and fortunately we don't think all the same. ;)

Showen, I personally feel people should just draw what they like and be creative. The real point to my image is to depict how I personally feel after spending hours, days and weeks completing one image. For instance, my inn painting took me 2 weeks to complete, which frankly should be evident by the amount of detail in the painting. However, the amount of likes it received just does not remotely equate to the effort put into the image, which is where my disappointment comes in. In fact, I am disappointed when I see other artists' amazing paintings receive a miniscule amount of likes for their work. Regardless of opinions, the manner in which likes are handed out by individuals has decrease the value of likes. I really hope things change once the colors update happens. For now I will continue to draw whatever I like and whatever comes to mind.

I know how you feel. Please visit my gallery, and pay attention to the 'likes' my artworks recieve... It seems that people don't want to see original artworks they just want to see game/anime characters... I mean why buy an art app if your just going to copy something that already exists? It just doesn't make sense to me...
09 Jun, 2012, 1:30 am
Well, I think drawing to enjoy yourself is the priority here. I find this application fun, but I'm not active enough.
09 Jun, 2012, 2:20 pm
Andy, I check out your gallery. Your work is awesome and without a doubt underrated. I do think people don't really care about original art and are simply scanning the gallery for familiar work (Link, Mario, etc.). I also agree...I don't understand why people mass produce copied material. I think if people are going to draw game or anime characters the concept should at least be original, but people don't even do that. The only game characters I draw are my online game characters, because unless I draw them I won't have any paintings of my characters :'(
09 Jun, 2012, 4:05 pm
Sooooo true, sadly
10 Jun, 2012, 1:00 am
I totally agree with you, but you did it! you got more likes!
10 Jun, 2012, 1:09 am
LOL ffy857, my image is a bit of an exaggeration with the 2 stars. However, I like to think of likes in relation to the amount of work an individual puts into their work. In this sense, I am often disappointed with the outcome. I also know that the situation in my image is one that many other artists are confronted with.
10 Jun, 2012, 2:30 am
I agree with the previous comments, Epic Hair. I don't know about any blur issues but I do agree with the 'likes' problem. Though you are more accomplished/popular then most of the artists. :)
10 Jun, 2012, 3:02 am
it's diificult to get noticed on here with all the ammount of new stuff popping up so quickly and not a very good browsing system. your drawing looks good, sometimes I think that has to be its own reward
10 Jun, 2012, 3:05 am
saaytin, Someone mentioned the red color causing the blur issue and I think that is true. It is true I have recieved more likes than most artists, but I feel as though the amount does not equate to the effort I put into some of my paintings. I feel the same way about other artists paintings. Images that show high level technique and difficulty receive what I consider subpar like results.
10 Jun, 2012, 3:18 am
Great job this is amazing. i have to agree with u
10 Jun, 2012, 5:58 am
Learn some skills from some people's talented artworks through the playback. Try to perfect some that I already have. Critique some work, although I'm still currently working on constructing my critiques, I'm not a good writer anyway. :/ I'm not about likes, just expression and testing skills through a convienent small app basicly. That's me as an artist, I guess.
10 Jun, 2012, 6:04 am
I don't see a problem in the blur as you said here in your picture. I'll have to see it on the comp later. You have potential, I can see that. No need to get dissapointed in the retention. It's all about the effort and expression and yes, I do believe the comments are the most important factor. Feedback and critique is the most important, especially if you want to improve!
10 Jun, 2012, 10:24 am
ya i hat when it took you forever to make a pic and you think that its great then you post it and turns out no one thought the same as you. i did that with all of my pantings, but then i'll come back the next day and i will look at thenand think that they are bad and its true : [. i have no talent. ; [
10 Jun, 2012, 11:45 am
meh i agree and am using this consept i love it well because i have no more to say check my gallery
10 Jun, 2012, 11:56 am
I don`t think that my work get blury in the gallery, but I agree about the likes. Call attention to your work is not easy. And I love read the comments too. Its make me happy and give me strengh to make more and better draws.
10 Jun, 2012, 2:30 pm
@ShadowFox: Totally agree with you. ;)
10 Jun, 2012, 3:11 pm
ya i feel that way too and i have a red 3ds too ^-^
10 Jun, 2012, 11:53 pm
Linski, thanks. There is no doubt about likes being about personal preference. I already have a list of reasons why people might not like my paintings or will cause my paintings to be overlooked. I don't necessarily have a set criteria for providing likes. However, I have a list of image types I refuse to give likes to. I am a fan of the Zelda and Mario series , but after seeing the gallery bombarded with such images, I have grown tired of them. The likes situation is indeed very complex.
10 Jun, 2012, 11:56 pm
P.S. I appreciate all of the thoughtful and intellectual responses!
11 Jun, 2012, 2:39 am
aw dont feel sad buddy your great.stars mean nothing and the surely dont measure artistic skill.people who see ur art know your great.some people r 2 lazy 2 add stars.
11 Jun, 2012, 4:36 am
Yes... I feel the same way. And I agree on the "liking criteria" that someone mentioned before. However, when I get a comment I always check his/her gallery and see if I 'like' something and thank in another comment. I am going to get into all the galleries from the people commenting here (and yours) hoping to find one of those underated masterpieces ;) Greetings!! -And you look very cute-
11 Jun, 2012, 4:58 am
i haven't really paid much attention to that, i don't really use much red, but now that ya' point it out, i see it. i like to use warm colors a lot, and blue
11 Jun, 2012, 6:41 am
You are very talented! I have artwork that has gotten very few likes as well. Then I see a post where a kid is asking someone to be their girlfriend get lots of stars. Frankly I wish this app had a better way to search for and find artwork, and have the ability to sift through the garbage. I want to view & admire other peoples artwork, not read posts about how you need a girlfriend or how you want to exchange friend codes. Anyway, bravo to your artwork! :-)
12 Jun, 2012, 2:34 am
I know how it feels DX
12 Jun, 2012, 6:57 pm
Moni, I hate to say it, but you are absolutely right. Your line example is not far from the truth.
12 Jun, 2012, 9:10 pm
its nice! it hurts my feeling too when nobody looks at my drawings, especially if i worked really hard on them!
12 Jun, 2012, 9:26 pm
your an outstanding artist! iv only got 1 gold star before but thats because my art isn't as good.i also get that feeling to!
12 Jun, 2012, 11:27 pm
i find from alot of your comments that alot of people just dont get liked alot ive only got as high as a bronze star i think the reazon is becauseyou have to draw something to do with a video game like mario or zelda for example i saw a realy bad painting of a mushroom from mario and it got a star and i did a way better painting but it didnt get anything
13 Jun, 2012, 2:00 am
I want people to see my work... but you need likes for it to be seen so this program will be forever dominated by the like getters and the original artists will be stomped on deviant art has a much better system... my username is the same Watch me if u want
15 Jun, 2012, 6:03 am
The style of this reminded me a lot of Maple, so I took a peek at the rest of your gallery, and whaddya know!
19 Jun, 2012, 8:26 pm
THATS SO TRY NICE PIC THOY
21 Jun, 2012, 1:25 am
I see what you mean ShadowFox. I mostly do original art of my own characters and ideas. Nothing in my gallery currently pertains to the any existing works other than my own. I don't want to sound boastful or arrogant, but I feel I put a lot of effort into the paintings I do. Take a look at some and you'll see that I rarely receive up to ten likes. What I appreciate most are comments, though. :)
If I could exchange all the 'likes' that I could potentially receive with comments then I'd be all set. I just hope the developers for Colors! 3D make it easier for art to get noticed in the future. :P
22 Jun, 2012, 5:03 pm
Chriswillmott, I guess the best answer to that question is yes but I modified the stand a bit to be more like an art easel.
28 Jun, 2012, 7:29 am
I can relate to this. I know my art isn't the best, but I do wish people would appreciate it a lot more. There are too many trendy paintings on here. I feel like it's more about popularity than actual art on here. Oh well. Never stop doing what you love to do. Your Gallery is awesome by the way. I look forward to keeping up with it and seeing more of your work. :]
04 Jul, 2012, 11:53 am
art is my life
10 Jul, 2012, 9:47 pm

11 Jul, 2012, 4:11 am
I love the details in the eyes
11 Jul, 2012, 4:19 am
I'm new, but I agree. Plus I hope you can look at my (currently short) gallery. Nice art, by the way. :)
14 Jul, 2012, 10:06 pm
I feel very the same! but my images get about 2 comments and 2 likes at an average. I work very hard on each and every one of my paintings, but my feedback is dissapointing.
17 Jul, 2012, 7:17 pm
Andy, your logic made perfect sense.
18 Jul, 2012, 3:17 am
I so feel this way!!!1! Also: THIS PICTURE IS WONDERFUL!
19 Jul, 2012, 4:48 am
I GET PRACTICALLY NO COMMENTS OR LIKES... I'M THE CANADA OF COLORS... (XD HETALIA)
20 Jul, 2012, 12:25 am
you are just plain awesome, your likes may not be high but your skills are XJ.This is colors! a difficult place to get stars. If you were on DeviantArt you would get 20k favs XD(no srysly).
27 Jul, 2012, 7:38 am
No one pays attention to me.I am new here.
18 Aug, 2012, 8:58 pm
I feel that not enough people see new art and just pick a few favourites. There needs to be sections like 'picks of the day' or 'staff favourites' or something like that.
Great artwork, by the way!
19 Aug, 2012, 1:22 am
This is just something to record my ideas for when I die and someone could see them. I know I'm not good at anything so I no longer have expectations for this place. It's the comments that count, anybody can do a quick like and not waste their time. Comments are like someone giving their time to you.
22 Aug, 2012, 9:40 am
i have the same problem my paintings are great but i nvr get good likes please ppl check my gallery out
27 Oct, 2012, 2:23 am

21 Nov, 2012, 7:19 pm

16 Feb, 2013, 11:22 pm
you are unimpressed by hundreds of likes?!
11 May, 2013, 6:18 am
I just had the experience of Colors! 3D blurring my drawing...I don't understand why, especially when it looks fine in playback! 0_o
04 Jul, 2013, 7:16 pm
thatz cute! You just got a like on here!
06 Jul, 2016, 3:00 pm
That's often how I feel, except for a different reason.
05 Jan, 2017, 5:27 pm
I just joined, so I can't say for certain yet, but I'm currently finding it pretty hard to get noticed.
I mean, in the end, for me, what matters is whether or not I enjoyed drawing it, but it would be nice for people to at least leave a comment or something, maybe give their thoughts on the drawing... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
