To find your friend code: First got to the home menu. Then, look at the middle top of the bottom screen and click on the orange and white smiley face. Once you get there scroll one to the right so you are on your mii and look under your name on the top screen. There should be a I2 digit number. That is your friend code ^^

How to register someone: To register someone on your friends list you tell the person you are exchanging with your FC and they give you theirs. Get back to FC screen but be on the far left (not on ur mii) and find "Register Friend". Click internet then type in their FC. (At first it will be a blank mii but once the other person registers you as well you will be able to see...(cont. in final section)

What friends can do: If you have both registered each other, then you will be able to see the other persons: Mii, Mii name, Status message (can be whatever u want, edit it above ur mii), and if the other person allows it (you can change it), you can.....

(contin.) ... when the other person is online, what their favorite title/software is, and what they are currently playing when online. :D Also, depending on the game (for example, Mario Kart 7) if the other person is say racing online or in a community or somethin then you can join them ^-^ etc..
