(Ok, let the RP BEGIN!) Kallen lay asleep in the snow den, tired from the long day of walking the day before. She could feel her brother moving beside her.

Kallen woke up, flattened against her mother's bulk beside her brother, Emu. She yawned, almost asleep.

(Hello)

A cold nose touched her side and Emu's head popped up over her. "Come on! Let's go check outside!" he whispered.

"ok" She whispered, excited to have an adventure with her brother. They padded outside to find a thick mist covering the ice.

Emu padded out on the ice, enjoying the smells of early morning. The ice was so smooth on his pads and the mist was crisp in his fur.

A strange smell wafted through the air with the thick mist.

Emu sneezed, his whole head shaking with the movement. "What is that smell?" he asked, crinkling his nose.

Kallen could smell the scent of seal and fresh snow through the mist. Suddenly, their mother emerged from the snow den, yawning with wide jaws. "Good morning, my sweet cubs. Looking for prey, I see?" She said cheerfully. Kallen nodded

"It does smell different today..." Kallen said, breathing in the thick scent in the misty air.

Emu slowly turned to his mother. "Do all seals smell so fishy?" he asked. "I'm not sure if I'd like that."

Their mother paused to sniff the air, then said, "It smells like other white bears, but far away. Lets go hunt in the other direction today" Kallen nodded, then followed her mother with Emu away from their den.

Emu stretched, happy to be moving. "Well, I hope we find some food soon, I'm starving!" Emu said.

Soon after, they found a seal hole and waited for a seal to come up. All the while, Kallen swore that the scent of the other bears was getting stronger, but neither her brother nor mother seemed to notice.

Suddenly, a brown shape apeared in the hole, and Starik threw it up with a swipe of a claw, k!lling it instantly. It was an adult seal.

Suddenly, Emu's ears swiveled behind them, and a loud growl interrupted the misty silence. A large white bear walked out from the mist to stand in front of them.

Starik was looking up at the white bear, when just then two more padded out of the shrowd of mist, glaring at them with an evil grin. Starik growled, backing up, forcing the cubs to hide behind her.

The tallest bear, and the first one to walk out of the mist, suddenly spoke. "Give us your seal, before we battle you for it" The other two growled in agreement, then Kallen spoke up "Never! We cought it fair and square!"

One of the other bears suddenly spoke up. "What a feisty little cub, aren't you? You might make a tasty snack" Kallen backed away, scared.

Emu's eyes shone with fear. "Mother, what should we do?" he asked timidly.

Starik growled at them in protest "Don't you lay a claw on my daughter, or I'll have your fur off!" The final white bear roared at them, then said "Really? I'd like to see THAT happen!" They all roared at the white bear family

Starik answered her son, afraid as much as her cubs "We should...RUN!" She roared. They all ran, with the enemy bears hot on their tails. They kept running, but the other bears didn't slow down at all.

Starik suddenly stopped running and turned to face the other bears and roared. Her roar echoed across the ice as the two bear cubs kept running away from their mother, with the only thing keeping them running was the fear of the other bears catching up.

Emu shook his head, panting with the effort of keeping up with his family. Adrenaline burned through his muscles and he turned around and shouted, "Go ahead and keep the stupid seal! Just leave us alone you big bullies!"

They kept running, hearing roars every few seconds, until they suddenly died down to nothing, exept one roar of pain coming from the direction they came, then all noises exept for their heavy breath was all that could be heard in the silence.

"Where's Mother? I thought she would've caught up by now," Emu asked worriedly.

They eventully slowed down when they were sure that the other bears weren't following them anymore, but their mother didn't appear through the mist, no matter how long they waited.

"I-I have no idea..." She studdered, thinking of the horrible things that could have happened to their mother. "We should go back and look for her"

"Lets go" Kallen and Emu walked for a long time with neither scent nor sight of their mother.

Suddenly, in the distance, Kallen caught a glimpse of a white lump through the mist. "Emu, theres something over there! Lets see what it is!"

Emu looked at her anxiously. "What if those bears are still there? Could we just get eaten?" he asked.

The duo quickly scurried up to it to find the limp shape of their mother.

Their mother was covered in bl00d, a limp shape in the snow, lieing in a pool of bl00d, ded.

Kallen stood there, staring at the limp shape of their mother, shuddering from the thought of their mother being ded

"W-why did this happen? How did this happen?" Emu asked, grief clouding his eyes.

Kallen walked away from their mothers shape, tears rolling down her muzzle splashing on the fresh snow.

"This never should have happened... She never should have dyed..." She sat down, crying.

"Kallen!" Emu called out. "Don't leave me!" He scrambled to his paws, and gave a sorrowful look to his mother and quickly padded after Kallen.

Emu walked over and rubbed his shoulder against her. "We'll be fine," he said trying to reassure her. "What should we do now though?"

She sat their by her brother, crying for a while, not saying anything.

"We wont be able to hunt here. Mother always hunted for us. We have to go to the place-without-ice if we want any chance in surviving..." she whispered, not daring to look into her brothers eyes.

Emu squared his shoulders and looked out determinedly. "Well, then that's just what we'll do. C'mon, get up," Emu said determidly, nudging Kallen with his nose.

"Ok... lets go..." She sat up, and they started to walk toward the edge of the ice that was far in the distance.
(Ok, I'll have to end the RP now 'cause my mom's makin' me get off. I'll see you later then! Bye!)
