Okay, so this is now my official roleplay room - I'll attach the tag to my gallery description. :p
This is where all you writing-lovin' peeps can practice and RP with me, or whoever happens to be online. vuv
Setting? Well, place your character in an urban area of some sort - I'd prefer if the character was an anthromorphic animal - and you're good! Tell me if you want to join, along with an RP sample. ^v^
#OfficialTexRP
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

Do I really need to put an rp sample? Eh, whatever, I'm bored. XD
Skipping along the tight streets, Amelia glanced into the stores that lined them, the blank stares of maniquins seeming to glance back at her, and the shiny baubles and toys glimmered in the five year old's eyes as gold would to a weathered adventurer. She then trotted merrily ahead to catch up to her father, who would smile and laugh at her playful antics and seemingly unending love for life.

Illia scribbled the names of the items in front of her into the small, leatherbound notebook she carried around. "Corundum, rubies, iron rods..." she mumbled the items as she jotted them down.
30 Jun, 2014, 9:17 pm
"OW! Hey, what's wrong with ya?! Watch where yer goin'!" Yet another shove. Theron grumbled and rubbed his abused shoulder, adjusting his knapsack with his free hand. He always seemed to forget that it was nearly impossible to navigate the city at this hour, and he of course paid the price - "MOVE, STUPID RODENT!" "'Ay!" Theron exclaimed, barely being able to contain the irritation bubbling inside him as he was shoved (yet again) into a hard brick wall.
30 Jun, 2014, 9:21 pm
Illia looked up from her work to the stained glass window just in front of her. A warm red glow settled on her face as the moon (sun?) shone through the multicolored glass. She noticed movement in the streets below where she worked, and she couldn't help but wonder what in the whole of Deidran's realm was going on down there. She leaned forward so her belly rested on the table and the slab of clay on top and pushed the window out to let in both the moonlight and the rank city air. Grunts could be heatd from below.

30 Jun, 2014, 9:29 pm
Theron hissed in discomfort as people shoved past him. Sighing angrily, he protectively leaned his precious knapsack against the wall, exposing his soft belly and various belts to the harshness of the crowd swarming past. He winced a few times as the buttons of coats and whatnot pressed into his belly fur, scratching the sensitive skin below. "Why does the nearest herb shop always have to be located the crikin' plaza?" he grunted to himself, glaring at a passing alligator - sharp, skin-pinching scales and all - as he stumbled past, looking less than sober. "Guess I'm stuck here 'till the rush calms down..." Theron muttered with an aggravated sigh.

30 Jun, 2014, 9:35 pm
(su be u)
Illia noticed that the crowds had started up again. Of course. Always this time of day (night?). She was about to turn back and close the window when a certain figure hunched against the wall caught her eye. A bat. She actually hadn't seen one in person before and now her curiosity was piqued. She glanced at the items on the table, then back at the bat, and dropped her charcoal and notebook and tromped down the creaky wooden stairs. Flinging the carved oak door to her and her father's house open, she leapt into the streets, absentmindedly leaving her door open. She weaved her way through the crowd, and when she neared the bat, sped off to the left of him so he wouldn't think it was weird that she ran straight for him.
30 Jun, 2014, 9:44 pm
Theron, currently preoccipied with not getting all of his fur scraped off, at first didn't notice Illia. He did notice what appeared to be a sleek white form slinking through the depths of the crowd, but he paid no mind to it as he pressec himself tighter against the uncomfortably rough brick wall. Growling, he tightened his goggles and gripped the bricks tighter as a very large bear squeezed past. Theron could hear sick popping sounds coming from the fragile equiptment in his knapsack as it was pressed ever tighter against the wall, and it took everything he had to not immediately fall to his knees in a panicked frenzy and attempt to fix it up. "CRIKEY!" he exclaimed in a furious tone, gritting his teeth.
30 Jun, 2014, 9:45 pm
*equipment))
30 Jun, 2014, 9:48 pm
Illia watched as the bat struggled to keep on his feet with all the passerbys rushing past. She looked around, then slunk next to him and poked him. "Having trouble?" She tilted her head in a quizzical manner. "I'm sure there are alleyways that could be of some help." She then regretted poking the stranger, for you never knew if someone would take that in a negative way with all the differernt sub-cultures in the city.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:00 pm
If he hadn't been in the exact situation he was in, Theron would've jumped three feet in the air as a - wolf? - poked him. "...alleyways?" he asked, momentarily unaware of the madness surrounding him. Then the ringing. His pupils minimized under his goggles as that all-too-familiar ringing in his ear overrode his senses. "A-ah!" he yelped, his hands flying up to cover his ears as the sensory overload took its course. Now all the more urgent, he swung his head towards the stranger and nodded vigorously as a sign for her to show him the way.The pain was so extreme that he felt himself frothing a bit at the mouth. He groaned, struggling to maintain some type of eye contact with this... wolf?..
30 Jun, 2014, 10:03 pm
Illia nodded, unaware of his pain and motioned with her index finger for him to follow her. She crept along the wall until a sudden corner caught her off guard and she stumbled into the almost empty alley, it's only other inhabitant being a portly-looking raven whittling some balsa. "Okay, I've found one... bat... guy...." She peered around the corner at the bat, who seemed to be in some pain. Unable to really help him, she simply waited for him to come into the alley.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:04 pm
*found one alley
30 Jun, 2014, 10:14 pm
Barely able to maintain upright, Theron eventually stumbled into the alley and almost immediately collapsed against a wall, where he began massaging his ears until the ringing finally faded into the normal blackness that it waited in.
Exhaling a sigh of relief, he took off his knapsack and inspected the exterior for any damage. Just as he was about to pry it open, he glanced up and finally remembered the - wolf? - as he straightened up to his full height, leaving his knapsack propped carefully against a wall. "Oh, uh... hello."
30 Jun, 2014, 10:21 pm
Illia's eyes immediately drifted to his wings. "Hello." She pointed at his wings like a small child would point at the toy he'd want. "Can you fly with those?" She stared for a moment longer before her gaze floated up to his face. She took a quick glance at the raven warily before looking back at the bat.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:29 pm
Taken aback by the strange greeting - if you can even call it a greeting - Theron blinked a few times before raising his arm warily. He himself didn't need to inspect them, considering he knew all too well that "They're utterly useless, I'm afraid." he replied, forcing a bit of remorse into his voice for the heck of it. Talking about his natural disability these days to him was like rubbing a wound long scarred over.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:33 pm
"Ah, I see." Illia put on a face of sympathy, even if she felt strangely satisfied by his disability. She cursed herself for being so selfish that she wanted him to be grounded like the rest of society. "Well then, what's your name?" She smirked awkwardly, pointy fox teeth jutting out below her lip.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:42 pm
Willing his eyes not to drift to the stranger's odd teeth, (even if she couldn't tell regardless) he replied "Oh, uh, Theron. Thanks for rescuing me from the crowd, though. I was quite literally dying out there." He laughed nervously, self-consciously adjusting the back of his goggles.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:45 pm
Illia stared when he said the word 'literally'. "Oh, um, do you need medical attention? You said you were dying... so..." She looked around her waist for the bag that hung there and pulled out a few poultices and some bandages. "I have training in medicine if you are hurt. I'm a mage, you see..." She probably didn't need to mention this on account of her cloak, but it was good to let a patient know that they're in good hands before patching them up.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:51 pm
(i wil bee rite bak)
30 Jun, 2014, 10:52 pm
Raising an eyebrow, Theron took a quick step back. "Oh, no. I'm fine now.. uh.. I just have a sensory overload problem." /So she's a mage? I thought that cloak rang a bell.../ he thought haphazardly, clearing his throat.
He twitched a sensitive ear in the direction of the plaza, where he could still hear the hoards of people bustling past.
30 Jun, 2014, 10:53 pm
(o oky)
30 Jun, 2014, 10:58 pm
Illia gave him a skeptical look before shrugging and stuffing the herbs back into her satchel. "Suit yourself." She turned back to him and sat down on the cool stone bricks that made up the alley floor. "I should probably get back to my home then, soon, or else father will wonder why all his stuff isn't catalogued... again." She chuckled at her own mishap, then tugged her satchel off of her shoulder.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:02 pm
Watching the mage for a moment, Theron's eyes eventually flickered back to his knapsack, which was still leaning almost dejectedly against the wall. "Oh, that's right!" he exclaimed, smacking his forehead. He crouched down to his knapsack and muttered almost apologetically to it as he undid the zipper and uncloaked the hand-carved machinery inside. Not paying the stranger any mind, he immediately began inspecting it, twisting a bolt around every now and then with a wrench he kept in his belt.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:09 pm
Illia's eyes caught sight of the machine and lit up. "I havn't seen anything like that before! What is it?" She leaned forward to get a better look. "I mean, the mages have an extensive collection of old-world machines, but not that... I don't think. I've only seen Ralahok City's machine collection." (She's very talkative, if you coudn't tell. XD)
30 Jun, 2014, 11:25 pm
(Aha. And Theron's very... uh.. quirky. XD "MAH EARZ HURT OOH MAH POOR KNAPSAACK O WAIT U WERE STANDIN THERE WHILE I WUZ LOOKIN AT MAH PRECIOUS KNAPSACK SORRY BRO)
Glancing up from his work, Theron decided to cloak the irritation that sparked behind his eyes. "Well, I sure hope your studies don't have information on this contraption. I myself made it, actually. Took a few.. ahem.. tries, but now I have an alternate way of flying! An actual upgrade from the organic version in my opinion." After allowing a quick smile to run across his features for a split second, he demonstrated by re-zipping the knapsack up and putting it on. After fastening it completely, he pressed a button on the small calculator on his belt. The artificial wings obeyed and sprang from the depths of the knapsack, allowing the dusky light of the alley to fall upon the thick leather, tough wood, and flexi-metal they were made of.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:32 pm
Illia stared. For all her life (read: 'til just now) she had wanted to fly. "Can you lift people with that?" She tried to hide the enthusiasm from her voice, but it seeped out like air from a wicker basket. Not very well hidden. She stood up to gawk at the wings some more. "So it's like a personal... um... flying machine. I've heard of skilled wind mages being able to fly, but only short distances, and the humans are long dead, but I've heard that they, too, could fly. Gosh, this is so exciting!" She was just a few words (that incidentally sounded like, 'hop on') from leaping onto his back (like a weirdo) and riding him into the sunset as if he were some sort of magic beast from legend.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:39 pm
(Gawsh, she's certainly got a very different attitude towards those stupid wings than Kat. XD)
"Um... well, I suppose they could take the weight of two people.. why do you ask?" Suddenly suspi.cious, he let the wings retract back into the safety of the knapsack and out of side. "I hope you aren't hoping to steal this baby, are you?" he asked in a low tone, narrowing his eyes under his goggles.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:40 pm
*sight, not side. ._,))
30 Jun, 2014, 11:43 pm
Illia's eyes widened. "Oh, no, I wouldn't dream of stealing it, sir. I'm just really curious, to be honest." She hoped that he believed her. "I simply want to experience all that I can before I die, I suppose. Flying is definately near the top of my bucket list!"

30 Jun, 2014, 11:51 pm
Exhaling a bit and relaxing his tense muscles somewhat, Theron nodded in relief. "Well, if you promise you haven't eaten anything too terribly unhealthy in the last while, I don't see a problem with giving you a short ride." In truth, he was somewhat nervous about thr idea - he hadn't flown anyone besides himself since... since.. oh, he couldn't even remenber. He mentally shrugged and told himself not to worry.
30 Jun, 2014, 11:54 pm
Illia looked away. "No, I havn't been eating unhealthy. The mages don't think that indulgence is holy, so they require us to eat small meals. Oh! Sorry for going of on a tangent." She padded around behind him and grabbed onto the collar of his shirt. She hauled herself onto his back, her small frame making it fairly easy. "Okay."

01 Jul, 2014, 9:47 pm
Theron sighed as the mage went on and on about - actually, he was only half-listening. He really didn't care. Not being around people too terribly often didn't exactly do wonders for his communication skills. He simply listened with partly piqued interest as the sound of the stranger's voice echoed loudly throughout the alley, meanwhile shifting slightly to get used to the new weight on his back. When she finally stopped speaking, he turned his head around to look at her and asked "are you ready? It's a bit windy out, and I see some dark clouds overhead." He refrained from using the fancy scientific cloud names he was so tempted to use, in case he confused her. "It might be a bumpy ride. You sure you're ready?"
01 Jul, 2014, 9:53 pm
Illia nodded, barely able to contain her enthusiasm. "Yeah, I'm an electric mage. One good thing that comes of that is that I can basically bend the will of the lightning, creating a kind of sheild around us that protects us from the shock. Well, at least me, anyways..." She realized that she'd gone off track again, so she stopped talking and gripped tighter, waiting for Theron to lift off and carry her into the bleak skies.
01 Jul, 2014, 10:01 pm
Theron sighed and swung his head back around, squatting a little as he somewhat reluctantly lowered his hand to the small calculator on his belt. The artificial wings sprung once again out of their resting place, the leather flaps opening to their full span. Theron took one last weary look at the uninviting clouds above before pressing several buttons on his belt calculator, his fingers a blur. The wings began flapping up and down in sync to his hand movements, eventually accumulating a rythm.
Theron smirked with satisfaction. He hadn't been sure if he could pull it off with another weight added to the equation, yet here he was - steadily rising into the grey sky. Sure he had to move more carefully and was considerably less agile, but he was apparently still all the more able to defy the flightless fate destiny had set for him at birth,
Chuckling triumphantly, Theron fleetingly wondered what his passenger was going through.
01 Jul, 2014, 10:08 pm
Illia squeaked as the wings whooshed out from under her and she squirmed up a little so her feet rested on the bag. Before she had time to settle, Theron was flapping his wings, sending great gusts of wind up to her and blowing about her fur. Her sense of apprehension grew as the ground shrunk. It was magnificent, to be sure, but so were the warbeasts, and you didn't want to get on their bad side. This was the same way. The air around her grew colder, and soon she grew bolder, occasionally glancing around, partially in awe of her surroundings, partially in fear of the fae dragons that flew up here too. She glanced at the back of Theron's head, relishing the thought of goggles for her eyes were now watering with the wind and altitude.

Once they were high enough up, Theron dared to look down upon the city. He could still see that cursed and still crowded plaza, as well as a network of streets and alleys. From here, he couldn't make out any details, but he knew all too well that a number of interesting shops lined the majority of those streets. Yet he always hated navigating them by foot; the only reason he didn't get around by flying alone was because he didn't want to attract attention. He looked back up and stole a glance over his shoulder at his passenger, who's eyes seemed to be watering. Chuckling, he yelled over the wind, "I told you it'd be a bumpy ride, not to mention that I specifically asked you if you were ready. That was supposed to indicate that you oughtta get out eyewear of some kind, because... well, you see why." He grimaced as a particularly nasty gust of wind vio.lently brushed past him.

Illia squinted. His words rushed past her in the wind, and she could only hear small snippets. She did, however, hear most of his lecture on eye-wear and she silently cursed herself. She'd never flown before, how was she to know? She instead hunkered down lower onto his back so that her head was lower than his. It helped a little bit, but then a great gust came and blasted her face head on with freezing air. She sneezed and closed her eyes. While it was great to see such a wonderful view of the city, she probably wouldn't want to do this all the time. She was grateful for her two legs and right now, her warm Mages cloak covering her short-furred torso.

Theron could feel the mage simply hunker lower onto his back in response and laughed a little under his breath. /Guess she's not used to 98 mph winds,/ he thought amusedly to himself. He began flying northward, concentrating on maintaining balance while the wind fought ruthlessly against him, tearing angrily at the black fur on his face, chest and arms. "Crikey..." he muttered savagely under his breath as he felt a few icy raindrops pelt into his face.
01 Jul, 2014, 10:41 pm
Illia stifled a whimper as the driving wind gave way to icy drops of rain. They stung the skin beneath her fur and she tried to cover her face with Theron's backpack. When that didn't work, she resolved to tough it out and simply try and focus on the scenery. She looked past Theron's wing onto the ground below and saw the city lit up from afar, glittering like a pile of jewels on the Earth below.

Hadar finished shuffling through the messy, lopsided collection of quite aged and heavy study books in his travel sack made of a once soft, gentle leather that had been worn down quite a lot. He snapped the heavy, cold metal buckle quite half-heartedly, put his glasses in his robe's secure pocket, then gave his wings a heavy thrust and took off from the ground.
01 Jul, 2014, 10:52 pm
Theron was just getting used to the driving winds and unforgiving rain when he heard a sharp yell from below. He yelped in surprise and veered sharpy to the left and just barely maintained balance. After overcoming the black wave of panic that had threatened to wash over him only moments earlier, he flew lower and swiveled his ears curiously in the direction of the yell. Then, he saw it. His special goggles allowed him to catch sight of a pale yellow figure in the rain, who seemed to be deliberately yelling in his direction. "What the..." he muttered to himself, squinting.
01 Jul, 2014, 10:56 pm
Illia screeched as Theron swerved about in the air. When the panick of almost being tossed off and splatting onto the pavement subsided, she then noticed the voice calling out. She gripped tighter. She was a superstitious being, and the stories of all those sailors dissapearing at sea due to sea beasts that imitated voices didn't seem that far off from their situation right now.
01 Jul, 2014, 11:10 pm
Both Theron's body and mind hovered for a moment, deciding whether or not to simply fly away as quickly as it was possible to in this God forsaken storm. However, the pale yellow figure's voice sounded urgent. /Maybe he's hurt or something.../ he thought to himself. He pushed the last suspi.cious thought out of his head and into the steadily increasing rain, and reluctantly landed on the ground before the figure. He let the mage off of his back before straightening up and retracting his now soaked wings. He struggled to see the stranger through the haze of the coming storm, but it was becoming more and more difficult to do so.

Illia leaped off of Theron's back, grateful to be back on solid ground. She shivered in the rain, holding her arms around her body to conserve heat, and leaning sideways so she could see around Theron to the one who called for help. She didn't know what to make of this stranger, but nothing about him really struck her as dangerous. (I have a feeling I know who it is. XD)

After a minute of silence (other than the continuous pitter patter of the falling rain), Theron cleared his throat. The stranger stepped forward almost bad temperedly, stomping ahead until he was inches from Theron's narrow face. "Are you mad?!" the stranger yelled, fury glinting dangerously in his eyes. "It's horrid out here, and you're FLYING?! You aren't supposed to fly above here anyways, you imbecile - this is a highly secured laboratory!" Theron blinked a few times as the stranger spit in his face. As he went on ranting, Theron made out his features - what appeared to be a roundish, almost fluffy face, with a small pair of glasses over black eyes that glinted dangerously with anger. Small pointy ears topped the stranger's head, and triangular orange tabby stripes lined each cheek and the forehead. From what he could make out, Theron guessed the seething figure was a cat.

(Sorry, took a while to type. xD)
01 Jul, 2014, 11:40 pm
Illia drew up one side of her muzzle in a grimace as the seething cat started to yell to Theron about public safety or something like that. "If I may interject here, Mr.... um... Traffic cone... I don't think you have the authority to be telling anyone where to fly. It's not like you're the... um... king or anything. I think only he can make rules like that. And unless you have missiles or something from the human age, I don't think you could've stopped him anyways." She backed off after that, not wanting to be slapped or something.
01 Jul, 2014, 11:50 pm
The cat's head whirled around to make eye contact with Illia. He began storming over to her when he was stopped by Theron's held out arm, "Look, buddy..." Theron said in a low voice, still holding his arm protectively in front of the mage. "She's right. Unless you've got precious relics or somethin' in there, I see no problem with flying over it. Not to mention I've flown through much worse." He twitched an ear challengingly. The cat opened and closed his mouth a few times, obviously trying to calm himself. "Alright, let me explain to you VERY CLEARLY why you need to not fly here, bud. This is, as I said, a highly secured laboratory. There are cameras everywhere, and if they caught sight of you, guns would shoot the two of you to oblivion. Are we clear?" Theron kept silent for a moment, mulling over the cat's words.
01 Jul, 2014, 11:54 pm
Illia crossed her arms and stayed quiet for a few moments longer before asking, "Could you then, please, turn off those guns so we may leave without being peppered with lead?" She glared at him, daring him to say no so she could practice her magic again after a few weeks without using it. Her fingers itched to just shock this infuriating feline.
02 Jul, 2014, 12:00 am
The cat rolled his eyes and turned to face Illia, an eyebrow raised almost defiantly. "You think I have control over the security system? God knows I've tried to convince them to use some other form of defense so folks like you aren't blown to smithereens." His expression gradually softened as he sighed, his eyes falling to the ground like defeated leaves in a wind storm. "I kind of had to dash out here and warn you before it was too late... yelling, at the moment, was kind of mandatory."
02 Jul, 2014, 12:09 am
Illia relaxed after she knew that this man wasn't out to hurt her or Theron. "Oh, well, how do we get out of here, then?" She studied the sky above, blinking as the rain hit her face, then lowered her gaze to the surrounding area. She spotted the guns first. It was as if the earth had sprouted the horns of a metal bull, the old machines pointed at the sky as a reminder to the strength and power the humans once held in their hands before the great dissapearance culled them all. She shot the deflated cat a look, wondering what kinds of things were kept in that laboratory.
02 Jul, 2014, 12:19 am
Theron coc.ked his head slightly as he looked at the sheer size of the guns before his gaze settled back onto the cat, now a little less taken aback and defensive. "Pretty high security, from what I can see. What on earth do you keep in there?" The cat glanced up at the bat before straightening up a bit, nervously adjusting his dark blue tie. "I'm afraid that's classified. All you need to know is that the two of you somehow flew into a very heavily protected area, and - trust me - you will not have what I consider fun getting out." He shook his head sympathetically, Theron meanwhile staring blankly at the ground, lost in thought.
02 Jul, 2014, 12:25 am
Illia huffed. Some predicament she'd gotten herself into. She shuffled her feet before taking a step towards the facility. "So, um, could you ask them if we could leave with an escort or something? I mean, if they want people out of here, they'd let them go, right?" She coc.ked her head in the direction of the cat, her brows lifted in a quizzical manner. "I mean, if they don't want people to see it, why not let them go before they do?" She hoped his answer to this question would not come out with the words "ki.ll" and "you" in it, in precisely that order.
02 Jul, 2014, 12:31 am
The cat looked back at Illia and sighed, his eyebrows furrowing. "Ah, well, about that..." Just then, a strange low-frequency beeping noise sounded from the facility, echoing loudly in the softening rain. "Oh no..." the cat muttered, his eyes feverishly glancing about. "Wait here, but hide behind that wall if anything unprecidented happens - I'll be back momentarily." With that, ge dashed back into the building, leaving Theron and Illia in the haze. Theron raised an eyebrow and turned to face the mage, waves of nervousness causing him to shudder slightly.

*he))
02 Jul, 2014, 12:37 am
Illia watched the cat run, apprehension growing. She looked at Theron, then at the wall, and, deciding that bunking down was probably the best option in a gun fight, jogged towards the wall and crouched behind it, waiting for Theron.

02 Jul, 2014, 12:48 am
(XD True, but the RP's at least finally getting interesting.)
Theron quickly followed the mage, crouching behind an unconfortably low brick wall. He leaned over to Illia and commented lowly, "I have no idea what's going on here, but I'm getting pretty bad vibes.." As he spoke, he could still hear the odd beeping noise rythmically blaring into the fog and rain, breaking the would-be silence.
02 Jul, 2014, 12:49 am
*uncomfortably))
02 Jul, 2014, 12:53 am
Illia stifled a nervous chuckle. "I'm getting that too, coincidentally." She reached for her satchel and pulled out a flask of water, unscr.ewed the cap and putting the lid to her lips. She silently chugged, thirsty after her adventure in the sky, and she figured that if she were to die, she'd at least like to be hydrated. She finished sipping and offered some to Theron. (Futiley trying to make them longer, XD)
02 Jul, 2014, 12:58 am
Theron shook his head politely, his ears meanwhile swiveling to catch any sounds in the surrounding area. "If I were to guess, I think something's taking place in the lab itself - I don't hear anything unusual out here." He sighed and shifted into a more comfortable sitting position, his ears flattening in shame. "I'm really sorry I got us into this horrible mess, Illia..."
02 Jul, 2014, 1:04 am
Illia waved a paw. "No, it wasn't your fault. Really. Neither of us knew that this was here, in fact, I was the one who suggested flying." She closed her eyes and listened. While she knew Theron's hearing was much, much better than her's, a second set alert couldn't hurt.
02 Jul, 2014, 1:10 am
Theron turned to look at her. If his goggles hadn't been cloaking his eyes, you could see small tears forming in the corners of his underdeveloped cornea. "I still should have known better than to go out flying in this weather, though. Who goes flying in a storm, for goodness' sake! Guess that cat was right about that.." He chuckled tiredly, wondering where the cat was anyway. "While we're on the subject, I hope he's alright in there. Those guns give me the creeps."
02 Jul, 2014, 1:15 am
Illia sighed. "It's alright, I mean, it's not, but it's alright in the fact that we're at least not splattered on the ground right now." She turned back to the laboratory and knitted her brow. "I do hope he's not hurt. That would mean we'd be stuck here. Also, that would mean that he's hurt, and that's never good."
02 Jul, 2014, 1:20 am
Theron nodded in somber agreement. "Eugh. Whatever they're keeping in there must be either highly radioactive or an actual Godzilla, with the treatment the defense system gets." Suddenly, his ears caught the sound of a scream from inside the facility. The scream echoed ominously in his eardrums for a few moments as his pupils dilated. "That doesn't sound good..."
02 Jul, 2014, 1:26 am
Illia perked up. "What, what doesn't sound good?!" Her eyes widened in fear as she strained to hear what Theron heard. "Is something exploding? Does it sound like mutants?" She started shaking, both out of fear and out of the chill. "I just want to leave...."
02 Jul, 2014, 1:35 am
Theron shook his head slowly, somewhat dazed. "Neither. It's a highly unhappy sound... a scream, to be exact. From who I can't be sure. I just know that something's going wrong in there, and every instinct I've got is pulling away from here..." Just then, the yellow cat from earlier burst through a side door and ran over to them, looking frazzled. Theron kept his mouth sealed shut in an attempt to keep all his questions from tumbling out in an avalanche.
02 Jul, 2014, 1:39 am
Illia sombered. "Oh." Just then, the cat sprinted towards them and Illia almost sprung out of her hiding spot, for fear of robots or mutants or some other lab monstrosity. She relaxed only a little when she noticed that it was, in fact, just the cat. "What happened." She had to ask it, for her curiosity wasn't dampened in the slightest, even in this situation.
02 Jul, 2014, 1:39 am
*happened?
02 Jul, 2014, 1:47 am
The cat, after breathing heavily for a few moments, caught his breath and looked up at Illia, subconsciously straightening his crooked glasses. He always hated it when people asked him direct questions like that. "Classified, but nothing to worry about. Just a temporary run-out on... a certain liquid with special purposes." He gulped a little. "It's good now, but that's beside the point. The good news is that you've got the authorization to leave, under the condition that I accompany you to your living quarters respectively." "Why?" Theron piped up, peeved by the idea of the odd cat tagging after them back to the city. "I suppose I'm supposed to merely make sure you aren't spies or something of the like." The cat shrugged, wiping a little drizzle from his glasses with his light green shirt.
02 Jul, 2014, 1:50 am
Illia breathed a deep sigh of relief. "Oh thank The Three..." She smirked a little, then stood up, stretching her back. "I honestly don't have a problem with him tagging along if it means I can leave." She sna.tched up her satchel and swung it over her shoulder, the contents inside clinking together like bells.
02 Jul, 2014, 1:59 am
Deciding he too wanted to leave badly and that it wasn't worth the risk of arguing,Theron sighed and got up as well, brushing himself off. "Well, I can't carry the both of ya, even though the weather's calmed down some." There was now, in fact, only a light drizzle and mist in place of the pelting rain and choking haze from about thirty minutes ago. The cat cleared his throat in reply and motioned for them to follow, which Theron reluctantly did. "Blimey, what a bossy, fidgety cat..." he muttered grudgeonly under his breath. "I actually am going to drive you back using a vehicly normally reserved for cargo," the cat informed them as he walked towards a line of trucks.
02 Jul, 2014, 2:01 am
*vehicle *toward))
02 Jul, 2014, 2:03 am
Illia followed enthusiastically, the previous event melting behind her when she heard that she would be riding in a vehicle. Despite all the misfortunes, this day was turning out quite well. She pranced behind the two, grabbing hold of the thick steel collar of her cloak, something she just did when she was giddy. She scanned the bleak horizon for the vehicle, wondering what it would be like to be trollied (that's a word, right? XD) around like the king, and more importantly, the humans.

("Trollied" will be added to our totally legitimate dictionary of totally legitimate words. XD)
The cat motioned to a large four-seat truck with odd tubes running along the sides and con.necting to an opaque container of some sort on the back. The tubes and container appeared to be empty - currently, at least - but that didn't stop Theron from raising a suspi.cious eyebrow. He looked first at the cat, then the truck. He repeated this a few times before reluctantly getting in, still feeling apprehensive and tense.
02 Jul, 2014, 2:16 am
Illia practically squealed at the sight of such magnificent old world technology. She vaulted right into the back seat, admireing the leatherwork on the cushions, the fuel gauge on the dash and most of all, the amazing steering wheel up front. Ridingbeasts sure didn't have those. "Gosh, humans must've had an amazing lifestyle..." she mumbled to herself in wonder. (She's a huge nerd for these types of things. XD)
02 Jul, 2014, 2:17 am
*admiring
02 Jul, 2014, 2:28 am
The cat chuckled at Illia's enthusiasm and hopped up front, starting the hydro-powered engine. Backing out, the truck drove out into a road with tire tracks alone covering it's dusty surface. Theron, meanwhile, twisted his head around to watch the strange facility slowly slide out of view. Suddenly, he smelled traces of... "...perservation gelatin?" he muttered with a mixture of wonder and apprehension.
02 Jul, 2014, 2:32 am
Illia was too busy poking around in the back to notice the smell. She lifted up every possible hatch she could find, dissapointed when they revealed nothing. She then turned around in her seat and watched the hydroengine churn up water to power the vehicle. "Ingenious..." she whispered, obviously in awe at the whole idea of even touching one of these, let alone riding in one.
02 Jul, 2014, 2:43 am
Theron grunted unhappily and crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes at the cat, who was semi-consciously humming a song. "I didn't catch your name." "Hm? Oh, call me Kirk, mister..." "Theron." "Ah, okay. Pleasant to meet you, Theroh." "THERON." "Oh, I'm sorry! Theron, you'll have to pardon me - I'm concentrating in the road." Huffing, and not bothering to hide the irritation clearly written in his eyes, Theron glanced over at Illia, who appeared to be gawking over the hydroengine. He didn't know precisely he himself didn't share the mage's enthusiasm for the truck, but he knew he felt a vague and superstitious sense of dread about the traces of perservation gelatin that hung in the air with the collected dust.

02 Jul, 2014, 2:51 am
"Illia." Illia mumbled from the backseat without turning around, still enthralled by the workings of the truck. She then noticed the faint trace of chemical scent hovering in the air. Dismissing it as simply the smells of the engine and the garage of the laboratory, Illia turned around to face the front of the vehicle again. "Where did you or your co-workers come across this much undestroyed material? It's simply fantastic, and I'm sure the Mages would love to study it. You see, we have a very extensive catalogue of machines built by the humans, and although we already have a few pieces of one of these, a whole one would be simply amazing for research. You know, like reverse engineering." She looked at Kirk with pleading eyes, curiosity gnawing at her.
02 Jul, 2014, 2:59 am
Kirk turned looked in the head mirror at Illia with a stern expression. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that these trucks are unspareable. We actually ended up cloning a single unscratched truck we found. If you stumble upon the same type of finding, you can have all the trucks you want." With that, he looked back at the road, twitching an ear in dismissal. Theron mumbled something unintelligible under his breath, never taking his eyes off of Kirk.
02 Jul, 2014, 3:02 am
Illia simply deflated. "See, thing is that all the dig sites we search are always raided by bandits first. I mean, it's not your fault, I know, but it is quite frustrating for both the Mages and the advancement of science, if such a thing could be irritated." She drew up her mouth in a frown and looked out of the side of the vehicle, following the rocky ground with her deep green eyes.
02 Jul, 2014, 3:08 am

02 Jul, 2014, 3:09 am
Kirk simply sighed and said nothing, directing all his attention on the road. He wanted to be more helpful to these two - he really did - but all those rules he had been obliged to follow from his first moment of employment were like restricting chains on everything he did or tried to do. "Why did I get this job, anyway..." he muttered spitefully to himself, furrowing his brow.
