And speaking of copper shortsword skills, a friend of mine said that he and around a hundred other people beat WoF using only those. I'm impressed.

Well, if copper shortswords do around three damage(?), and 3 x 100 equals three hundred, then if they'd all attack him at once, it'd do three hundred damage.

Sorta believable. But how'd they get that many people on the same server?

I don't know. Maybe they were all friends, possibly from another server? Or some event on a popular one. Anyway, I'd never try to defeat him until I had a Phoenix Blaster, or at least a Space Gun. Wow, I sound like such a nerd.

I can barely remember what gear I used when I first fought WoF. Might've been full Molten stuff, though.

In my opinion, you should never go into battle with WoF without full molten armor and a decent ranged weapon, unless you're bored and want a challenge.
By the way, I just got to hardmode with a new game I recently started...I'm deciding if I should go for better armor first, or get some incredibly helpful wings. I'm thinkin' wings.

If you have Spectre Boots or a Grappling Hook, it wouldn't hurt to look for better armor. If you go for Cobalt/Palladium, it shouldn't be hard to find it at all if you break enough demon altars.

Wings can be really useful, though. So if you want wings, I'd say go for it.

Wings aren't that hard to get. Just hunt down a few Wyverns, and the rest is up to your preference of wing type. And yes, I have an Ivy Whip, Hermes Boots and Rocket boots, so maybe I'll do some mining here and there while getting Souls of Light/Night for Angel/Demon wings.
Wait...have I forgotten to combine my Hermes and Rocket Boots, or is that only possible with Flurry Boots?

Well, Flurry Boots are basically an alternate to Hermes Boots, so they both end up making Spectre Boots.
As for the wings, yeah, they are pretty easy, but it's usually getting the Souls of Night/Light that get me stuck.

I just use my hellevator. Underground Hallows and Corruptions usually develop around there eventually.

I remember exactly what I used to kiII him. I had Dragon Boots (From my Friend) and Molten everything else. I also used demonite sword.
The first time I fought him, he started going AWAY from my bridge and I died in lava, but he kept going and for some reason like 5 terraria days later the message appeared "The Wall of flesh has been Defeated" I am still looking for the obsidian box.

Wow...some glitch. Well, at least you got to hardmode.

Don't worry, he has an Angel Statue on him, hes fine.
