That's hiragana, not kanji. Kanji are the complicated characters that aren't part of the alphabet(which there are two of: katakana for loanwords/foreign words, and hiragana for native words) The spelling is correct though! :D
By not part of the alphabet I mean that the kanji is basically used for words and not single letters (ie if you spelled getsuyoubi(monday) with kanji, you would use the kanji "getsu(moon)", "you(week?)", and "bi(day)". If you spelled it with hiragana, it would be spelled with the hiragana characters "ge", "tsu", "yo", "u" and "bi".
