Hm, yes. General music has you learn different types of notes, which is a great head start. And if you know the notes under the treble cleff, not base or alto, then that's another positive, along with your knowledge on vioIin position. So in general, I do believe you should have a pretty easy time learning the vioIin with all of those head starts.
Well, I am pretty good if I do say so myself. Hurr hurr. XD
