basically this is what happened:
Olivia got lost in a cave all my herself as a filly, she couldn't use magic so she couldn't see her way, she was scared, she tried over and over again to use her magic, it didn't work then she was about to give up then, her horn lit up into a lovely sky blue
also i do have a backstory planned for olivia and her sister twirl like how they're alicorns and how they're immortal :3
