Hum ... it's can be interessing if you let it, but in a night version with a moon link, hum... try to work the shadow i think... for us.. to see the limite of the water and the earth! :)
I will like a Night version, or a smog version, Do you know "Magic the gathering"? A tatical card game, they are many wonderfull painting! And if you know it, I think you can make something like one of the illutration for the black mana card, hum... one of "Kamigawa serie", or if you know the virtual version of this, one of this. :).
Oh, and i'm a big fan of magic, many great professional painter/drawer/infographer create picture for them! :)

Wow! Nice! love the detail!
if i may give you sugestion, you could give more 'value' (object that closer to us/screen is blacker than one on the far).. and i think like @L.C. said it will be good if this going to be night scene with purple-ish magic background there.. anyway, good job! :)
