Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II etc. are all very important in lots of jobs and are used in lots of recreational things aswell. Schools just are really bad at telling teachers what to tell students so it comes off as harder than it is, mor complicated than it is, and less usefull than it really is.

I do use Algebra in engineering classes. I use it a WHOLE lot in my drafting class...
