A gash that size probably couldn't k!ll anything. That, or course, depends on how deep the gash is. However, from the looks of it, it probably isn't that deep.

Those scratches alone wouldn't do that to a pikachu. It probably had some kind of hemorrhagic fever, maybe a Pokemon equivalent to E. Bola. I definitely wouldn't be sticking around if it died from ANY illness. Handy set of Pokemon to have around if you need a defibrilator (spelling?)
