Mardi Gras started before today but the main day (this year) is March 4th. x3
I was taught that POOR people would wear masks and costumes and go to houses, asking for candy or food. So it was like an early Halloween for poor people! XD
By the way, the flag is New Orleans, LA's flag and the s in Mardi Gras is silent. uvu
