hi rose. regarding the clouds question, dont be afriad to make the under-shadow darker. oh and try adding bright white highlights throughout. use a low opacity eraser on a small setting to add lots of dabs, it creates a nice cloud effect.
sure just experiment and when you're happy with the result use the technique you developed for future paintings
