They don't hate eachother. Shadow is more of a neutral character in the Sonic games, like an anti-hero who does not choose sides -- rather work for them but to obtain for his own self needs; He is a troubled hedgehog experiment, still searching for answers about his past and who he is, what his purpose is in life.

i-i suck at sonic heroes- ;-; i dont get the controls- and i keep on switching charas instead of attacking, pressing X to select instead of O, and TAILS SOUNDS LIKE A BABY. (i have to turn the volume off for only that reason- (at least they now use the same voice actors for all the new games... -v-)(i got this weird graphical error on Charmy- HIS EYES SPIN! XDD)

well shadow kinda likes sonic as a freind but he never shows it on sonic the hedghog 06 shadow kinda shows that he's willing to protect sonic from silver even tho silver never knew who the real iblis trigger was

No, Shadow's a Rival, and he takes his work very seriously, so he thinks of Sonic as an Amateur, so he throws insults at him from time to time (mostly when they team up) To make sure he's got his head in the game. :) (hope this cleared stuff up) Great shade, btw! :) *like*
