That dude on the left is the REAL Jack. He's locked away in his own mind which makes way for the Evil Jack (On the right) that starts all that bad things he does. But the real Jack does show up in the current Jack's emotions from time to time. But he does get shoved away most of the time.
So if Jack ever does something nice for you, it's the real jack taking control.
