No this is not a finished ying yang symbol. this is the symbol of the Aes Sedai. they are from the wheel of time. The can do what is called channeling in which they channel a thing called the One Power in which they use to preform magic. thw white half is called the flame of Tar Valon (which is the seat of Aes Sedai power in the world) and that represents female Aes Sedai who can touch the female half of the true source called saidar. continued in comments

The black half called the dragon's fang represents male aes sedai who do to a tai.nt on the male of of the true source, saidin, always go mad and die a horrible death. Rand is an Aes Sedai so the fear of madness is a problem for him. Elyane is one in training. if you are one you can choose of 7 ajahs to join depending on what you like. Grey- Politicians, Brown- knowledge seekers, Yellow- Healers, White- logic users, Blue- Advocates, Green- Lovers, and Red-Haters of male Aes Sedai. and there is an 8th that is denied existnce the Black Ajah because they work for the evil guy in the book. also any Aes Sedai can be cut from the true source when it is done to women it is called stilling and when to men it is called gentleing.
