Only for the exam piece do we have some freedom- It has to be based on the years theme though (eg. this year it is 'Order and/or Disorder') For our other pieces it more limited, The first project is vanitas (morbid still life basically) we get to chose props ect but it has to be like other vanitas paintings (My school lost my entire classes vanitas paintings...) The second project is the 'Surrealist shoe project' (as i do go to an all girls school afterall) Which is essentially a papier mache shie based on a theme we have chosen (mine was steampunk) We also do a mock exam (which I am submiting instead of my vanitas) which is abstract art formed from our vanitas images. Yeah I think our system is different > < I'm a C/low B grade student in Art because I lack enthusiasm and I get distracted to easily...
