The whistle blew, thousands of men started to climb out of the trenches as it begun. (Set in the western front in the Somme 1916)

Colour Sargaent Miller screamed at us saying "Up and out you b.astards! Sooner we get this blo.ody battle over sooner we get home!" we complied and we soon found ourselves under heavy MG fire.

Artillery from both sides dueled as we got closer to their trenches, the creeping barrage put ahead of us designed to clear the area of barbed wire failed. The Germans were succeding in resisting our assault

Our regiment, the Cornish Pal's battalion was mowed down, within minutes the assault went wrong and we were retreating.

I heard the retreat sound soon we were back where we started. Not one man was not shaken.

Everyone has heard about the new war [[fail with history...]] starting but Crystal hasn't. Her mind was set on other things and while traveling, she axe-a-dent-ally was on the battle field. It didn't take long until she realized.

Miller shouted at Cpl Vive for leading the Pal's straight into an insecure trench, where they were riddled with fire. The Germans clearly had more secure positions near Thiepval and yet somehow Haig still wanted afull assault. The war had been going on for 2 years and this Summer was supposed to end it.

She watched from a distance and layed herself down so the others wouldn't see her though, Crystal was probably going to get caught anyway. She had heard someone talk about the war but she never payed attention.
Crystal turned her head around to make sure that no one was there. She held her old sword close to herself, it needed perparing and Crystal didn't want to use guns.

Cpl Vive prepared again, the men fixed bayonets and once more the whistle blew.

She looked back when hearing a whisel and a gunshot was heard from than distance. She have a bit of a frown and raised her head up to see better.

Men screamed battle cries as they rushed to charge the MG batteries at Thiepval, large quantities of them mowed down. A grenade was thrown at Vive, it hit the man next to him as the German stormtrooper charged straight for Vive but was quickly dealt with by Booey and Evans.

It wasn't then Crystal saw that she was even closer to them. The some of the explodestions hurt her ears and she covered her ears with her hands. "Gah!"

The Lewis LMG gunners Booey and Evans began to fire at the entrenched Germans but it was to no avail. The British returned to their trenches. Cpl Vive saw Csgt Miller looking at something with his binoculars. "There's a civilian on the field." said Milller, "Should we retrieve that person?" said Vive.

[My dog is bitting my foot and it hurts so badly...]

She felt that the shooting stopped and took her hands off her ears. After she took them off Crystal realized that she was at least crouching or enough to be viewed.

Crystal fixed her hair and she started to get a small headache. The thing about her is she hated loud noices.
