Project Sonic by Aneita
An interesting fan-theory. According to the theory, Sonic is, or at least part of, the ultimate lifeform project. While I find this a silly theory, I can't help but to do my take on it.
Sonic was the prototype of project Shadow; made after biolizard but before Shadow. Unlike Shadow, the scientists took a "natural" approach where Sonic goes through various stages of growth. Nether the less, his body is supposed to hold the cure for NIDS using the power of Chaos and power rings.

On an extension on my theory, Sonic might have been ejected to mobuis while in statis(by accident maybe) before someone release him from said statis where he ages normally.
I couldn't fit that in my description. Also, GUN may onky be focused on successful experiments only and there was little data in Sonic especially since he was ejected before he was released from the capsule.
