Many people also do not realize that "pegacorns" are non-existant in MLP:FiM.
Alicorns are royalty, whether they became an Alicorn, or were just like that from their creation.

I despise them, as well, even if the character design/traits are not similar to that of a Mary/Gary Sue character.

People make alicorn ocs cause if it was anything except an alicorn, people would hate themselves for not seeming interesting.

i used to to agree with the whole "ew stop going against canon!!" thing, but now i realize it's really stupid to hate someone for making a character for the sake of having fun. if it's a uniquely designed pony oc that can be distinguished from the others, then who cares if it's an alicorn? and on that note, why should you care about strangers on the internet making characters for fun? it's not like they're trying to impress you specifically or anything. my oc used to be an earth pony, then she was a unicorn, but i'm considering drawing her as an alicorn just for the heck of it because it's fun and i enjoy it and i am not trying to impress anyone.

at least i try to only have unicorns and pegusi(?). and earth ponies. .w.

Brooklyn, my alicorn OC, wasn't "born". Instead, she was created by a small piece of moondust colliding with an ember, spreading to hit all 4 elements at the same time.
