I would make a layer with a white background, and draw on it. Then, I would make another layer with a white background, and draw on it. I'd repeat that process, moving a layer to the front and deleting previously used layers when necessary.
It's pretty simple. I'm sure you could find a tutorial that would explain it better than me.
