It's called sports tape. I guess althetes use them, and Sonic has them probably because Sega wanted him to look older.

I sure hope someone's gonna realease a Sonic Boom mod for Sonic Generations PC before the game releases. I'm hoping I can get used to the designs so that I can just go straight into playing the game.
Am I the only one who really hopes their take on the cutscenes for the 3DS version will be GOOD this time, where it's like a cutscene on the Wii U would be, completely rendered on the device instead of pre-rendered and low quality.
