Wow this looks really good! And about the shading well I just kind of look at examples really. like clothes I look at how the wrinkles are typically formed and shaded. The only reasons why I keep the black likes, though, is because of the style and to show where the wrinkles are leading to. Hope that was helpful! (knowing myself it probably wasn't. I'm not a very good teacher(x lol)
