My first boyfriend, I was 17. First guy to ask me out. I wasn't even interested in him, but I thought guys just didn't like me. :/ A bit later he told me guys kept telling him his girl friend is hott. @.@ So just because no one has asked you out, doesn't mean you're unliked. And don't take someone you aren't interested in just because they asked... that relationship was a really terrible 2 year experience. >.<

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if Valentines Day was made just to make us anti-social people feel like as$...

I rarely text my best friends either. Usually they have to text me first. I don't know why I do this, I just do. I explained to them that I can't help it and they understand... I have stupid mental social issues too, but that doesn't make you a terrible person. True friends love you the way you are. c: I'll be 24 this month, I've been single for 2 years, but I have hope there's a guy out there that will truely understand me and love me just because I'm me. c: You don't give up either! And don't feel bad for telling people you're upset. Social anxieties is painful and uncontrollable. I often need reminders that I'm not as bad a person as I think I am. I really hope you feel better! <3

I know how you feel. a couple of months ago i had a LDR and we ended it since things didn't work out. most of my past relationships weren't the best. i don't have social anxiety, but i am very shy and very awkward around people that i don't know (once i get to know you though and feel more comfortable then most of the time i won't shut up xD). i understand you're loneliness and not making contact with friends much. hang in there hun :). you'll find you're special someone and they'll love you for who you are. you have an amazing talent in art and i'm sure you're a pretty neat person in general :D. as ppl said on here you'll never be alone and you won't. i'm 24, single, and going to eat all the chocolate's i can get my greedy-chocohalic hands on (CHOCOLATESSSSS!!!) for v-day lol. spend it however you wish! take care and enjoy your life :)!

Hey, having a boyfriend isn't really necessary. I don't have one. It's just to much drama. And I don't think you should involve yourself in that drama. I'm 23 and have never been in a relationship. I look at it as not a result of my social issues, but a part of who I am. I don't jump into relationships, I am someone who has to really know and have real and deep feelings for someone. It takes time for that to happen and by then, I was usually switching from middle school to high school or leaving high school and they were gone. It seems lonely and seeing others do it so easily makes things more difficult. However, I have come to see the easy relatioships of others, which rarely last, as something I wouldn't waste time on. What I want/need is far more than what they have, so I am not envious. Unfortunately, real relationships of others are still extremely hard to witness. I guess my point is, it's hard, but it seems to be part of who you are. There's no need to feel anything but love for yourself and who you are.

I certainly feel ya. I've never had a boyfriend, either. Even though I really want to fall in love... I dream of it, and have a few crushes. But I have social anxiety, too. I'm afraid to talk to people in general, let alone a guy I like. It's actually pretty bad and it often depresses me... The only way I can get across to other people and get their attention is through my art. But yea... I hope it gets better for both of us. Hopefully one day we won't spend Valentine's Day alone.
