When Hesper was four, her mother Irune was mur.dered by their village, for two years she survives off of any scraps she could find around nearby villages. She happened to stumble upon her mother's grave and cries for her, wishing she'd come back.

Her mother's ghost wishes for the same yet all she can do is watch her daughter weep above her grave. Luckily Chiyo finds Hesper a month later and immediantly takes her in.
