I'd like to think that I can paint pretty decent from photos (see my other work). It's far more challenging to conceive and paint an original idea. I've seen some fantastic work from other artists on here (Stagnant Darkness, The Adjudicator, Stuffin, Tatzino, Cydnie, and more) that inspire me. This is the first of hopefully more and increasingly better pieces that are my own creation. As always, thanks for checking it out!

I like this a lot! It is difficult to think of original ideas, but it's so satisfying to see an original concept mesh together the way you always wanted it to.
I really like the water, and the little path that comes from the house to the pier. <-- I don't remember how to spell that at the moment. XD But I think the definitive feature of this piece is the clouds. They are pictured in such a way that it suggests a kind of cheery tone. And the perspective there is great too! Something I've been needing to work on for a while.
I believe that whatever this painting lacks at all, it makes up for with personality. It's unique! Excellent work here!

This is amazing, especially coming straight from your mind. I'm the least creative person that I know, so I always use reference pictures (on my ipod). Even the greatist artists referenced pictures for their work. Painting/drawing straight from the mind is something that most people can't do.
