Amber growled, swishing her tail in fury. The kiIler stood before she and Feather, but they were cornered on the edge of a tall building's roof. The thunder rumbling loudly overhead didn't help with the fear Feather felt building inside her. It felt as if she would explode because of the horrid feeling.
The large tabby tom snickered as he padded closer, licking his bloody muzzle tantalizingly. Feather stepped back, feeling her hind paw slip off the edge. Luckily, she regained her balance swiftly.
"Why would you kiIl so many innocent cats?!" Amber cried, baring her canines.
"You ignorant b!tches," the KiIler snarled, raising his tail, "I'm doing this for the good of all. The weak must die, so the strong may prosper!" He cackled insanely at his words. Lightning flashed behind him, casting an eery shadow among his twisted, dark face.
Feather shivered, the cold rain had begun falling, and she was terrified. The small tabby p!ssed herself in fright, cowering beside Amber.
Behind the kiIler stood a group of five cats, three large toms and two fairly small she-cats. A flash of hope appeared in Feather's pale gaze, and it caused the villain to wheel around.
Ravenfeather happened to be leading the band of rogues, and he stepped forward. The villain was nearly his size, which proved how large he was.
"Leave them alone," the black cat said calmly, his golden gaze unwavering. Angel, Zelda, Dawn and Anubis flanked the large tom, their pelts sp!ked and claws unsheathed.
Without warning, KiIler screeched a battle cry and leaped at Ravenfeather. Many cats rushed over, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, and attacked Ravenfeather's squad.
The screeches and yowls of the felines fighting radiated throughout the city as the cats fought to the death. Dawn, a dark grey tabby, fought with all of his might as several muscular cats leaped onto him. The sopping animals raked their claws along each other, the roof drenched in rain and blood.

A ginger tom wailed as Anubis tossed him off the roof. Blood trickled down into his eye, but he hardly noticed. His attention landed on Feather, who was pinned to the ground by a jet black tom. The large, sleek cat bolted over, slamming into Feather's attacker.
"Go! Get their leader!" Anubis yowled to Feather. The silver tabby nodded, getting to her paws and running across the roof.
"No!"
Zelda's cry over-powered the fighting cats' growls as she saw Dawn's throat get slit by the KiIler.
Amber glanced over from her scuffle with a white-and-brown tom, getting clawed on her chest in that brief moment.
Feather winced at the chaos surrounding her. It was horrible. Why must the world be such a dark place? Could no one ever live in peace?
Tears fell down her face as she tore across the roof, silent as an owl on the hunt. She leaped at the leader of the cult, landing squarely on his broad shoulders. Her teeth sunk into his ear, and he screamed in pain. Feather tore his ear completely off, gagging at the metallic taste of blood.
Feather ceased to release her grip, biting and clawing any part of the KiIler she could grasp.
However, he tossed her off and swiftly pinned her. He grabbed her by her throat, reopening the scar slightly, and tossed her around like a ragdoll. Feather's mouth was open in a silent scream as she was flung around, her blood spattering onto the cement.
Amber slammed into the large tom, causing him to release Feather abrubtly. Feather smacked onto the ground, earning herself a nosebleed.
She stumbled to her paws, shivering v!olently as she took in the massacre before her.
Amber was on the ground now, twitching her jaw as she was strangled by the large tom.
Feather chomped down on his tail, and he leaped at her. Without thinking, Feather reached up, raking her claws down his stomach. His intestines spilled out onto the cement, soaking the ground in his blood.
Feather was breathing heavily, tears running down her face. She gazed up at the dark sky.

Around her, the other cats stared, some retreating, others watching in horror as they realized what had happened.
All was silent. No one spoke.
All that was heard was the sound of rain pattering on the roof.
Ravenfeather spoke softly, and all attention turned to him, "Thirteen moons of darkness will be enlightened by a new dawn... that is what a stranger had told me when I was young... I never knew what it meant until now."
Feather stared at him. What did he mean? His gaze revealed the answer.
It was her.
